This video provides a sobering autopsy of the modern dream, exposing how systemic greed has turned basic milestones into unreachable luxuries for Gen Z. It correctly shifts the blame from individual failure to a rigged economic structure that prioritizes corporate profit over human well-being.

The Real Reasons Gen Z Is Miserable
Added:Go to school, get a degree, fight tooth and nail for a terrible job, work your life away, stay single and lonely, zero social life, never own a house. If you ask anyone from any point in history, they would tell you that's a miserable way to live. But this is the life that hundreds of millions of Gen Z from all around the world are experiencing.
Almost half of all Gen Z feel hopeless or depressed, and 73% of Gen Z suffer from loneliness, a rate that no previous generation in modern history has ever experienced. So, why is Gen Z so miserable? Well, it's not because of avocado toast or laziness. There's a lot to unpack here, so let's start off with the most obvious problem. Getting a job is impossible. Back in the day, older generations could just walk into a local business or find a job posting in the newspaper, hand in a resume, and likely secure a job that would train them.
Having a college degree pretty much guaranteed a high-paying job. And for generations before that, most people were self-employed or worked for family businesses. Now, compare that to what's happening today. Over half of college graduates are unable to find a job after graduation, and 70% of college graduates are unable to find a job relating to their degree. Today, young people send out thousands of digital applications and rarely receive a single interview, let alone a job. Our applications and resumes aren't even being reviewed by human employers anymore, but rather AI algorithms who will sort through us like cattle and reject us for not using the right keywords, which is a hell that no previous generation ever had to experience. This is because the corporate elites are profiting billions of dollars by hiring less people, laying off workers, and replacing them with AI or foreign workers who will work for cheaper wages. But not only is getting a job insanely difficult, but the few jobs available to us barely pay anything.
When older generations found a job, they could immediately start providing for themselves and pay the bills using their salary. Even those working low-tier jobs could earn enough to provide for an entire family. But for Gen Z, the average entry-level job pays $43,000 a year, which isn't enough to survive on in many places in the US, and definitely is not enough to provide for an entire family. And Gen Z from all around the world are facing the same problem. With the corporate elite looking to earn more profits by lowering wages. So not only are we putting our blood, sweat, and tears into securing a job, but we're doing all that just to get some crappy job that barely pays better than McDonald's. And if this job crisis wasn't bad enough, with the rise of AI, none of us really know what will become of the work we're putting in today. All the efforts, the grinding, the years of building skills could end up being wasted once AI becomes powerful enough to replace all of us in the workforce, which is a brutal reality that no previous generation in all of human history had to worry about. Sure, we've seen technology replace workers throughout all of human history, but never on the scale of what AI is about to do. Inventions like the tractor only affected the farming industry.
Inventions like the loom only affected the weaving industry. But AI, pretty much every white-collar worker in every single industry is going to get cooked.
Gen Z was born too late to experience a stable and accessible job market, but born too early to benefit from whatever AI will provide for society in the future. Born just in time to watch the world get [ __ ] Speaking of jobs, I don't have a job, which is why today's video is sponsored by War Thunder. Now, as bad as this may seem, the job crisis is only the tip of the iceberg because Gen Z is facing far more than just a job crisis. Being jobless isn't the end of the world. People in the past have survived through the Great Depression and countless recessions, [music] but no previous generation in all of human history has ever experienced anything close to the loneliness epidemic that Gen Z is facing. Gen Z is the loneliest generation of all time.
The statistics alone paint a depressing picture. Over 60% of Gen Z men are single. Almost half of Gen Z feel unlovable, meaning they doubt they will ever find a true relationship. Pew Research estimates that one in four Gen Z will remain single for the rest of their lives. And here's what the mainstream media refuses to admit. The problem isn't that Gen Z doesn't want relationships anymore. This is a lie that the media wants us to believe to manipulate us into believing that the loneliness epidemic is our own fault.
But anyone with a functioning brain can see that most young people do want a relationship. We're human beings after all. The problem is that Gen Z is genuinely unable to find them because romance has been systematically made extremely difficult. Gen Z grew up in a completely toxic dating culture that defies everything about how real love should work. Unlike previous generations, Gen Z treats dating like a job application. They treat it like window shopping, viewing potential partners as products in a market rather than human beings. This is because we grew up with apps like Instagram and Snapchat and Tinder that gave the illusion of a wide variety of potential partners readily available to us, making dating resemble a shopping catalog. Not only does this mindset lead young people down the path of toxic and dysfunctional relationships, but it also creates a miserable life for those who don't live up to these insanely high dating standards, which is why nearly half of Gen Z feel unlovable. And if this toxic dating culture wasn't enough already, modern society has also made socializing insanely hard. Unlike previous generations, Gen Z grew up in a world where chatting with strangers and having real conversations is rare and strange.
>> When's the last time you had a long, genuine conversation with a stranger that wasn't from your workplace or school? And again, it's not because Gen Z doesn't want to have these conversations. It's because we genuinely don't know how to.
>> For previous generations, instead of staying home doom scrolling, people went outside to meet others and chat in real life. There wasn't much to do in your bedroom back then, so naturally people went outside.
>> Human connection happened organically and through physical proximity.
>> Older generations met people in their community, in restaurants, bars, cafes, libraries, movie theaters, malls, and events.
>> Back then, walking into these places and starting a conversation with a stranger was natural and expected. And everyone in the neighborhood was a friend and part of one big community where everyone knew each other and would occasionally get together to have parties simply because they lived close to one another.
>> But as technology developed and gave us iPhones and TikTok and addictive >> video games, the need outside to socialize slowly started to fade away.
>> And even if you go outside, what do you see? People glued to a screen. Because why talk to people when you have access to an infinitely stronger dopamine dispenser directly in the palm of your hand?
>> People like to criticize Gen Z for being so addicted to our phones. But if you actually take a close look, everybody from your grandma to your dog is addicted to a screen. So I don't think it's fair to blame Gen Z for this problem. Our phones and apps were intricately designed to be as addictive and attention-grabbing as possible because the more addicted we become, the more the corporate elite can profit off of us by shoving ads in our faces and selling our data. And as the corporate elite design our phones to become more and more addicting, the worse the loneliness epidemic becomes, meaning this problem is only going to get worse.
Now, before you [music] type, "But the millennials have it bad, too." you have to realize if you were born before the '90s, you got to experience what real human socialization is supposed to be like before it faded away. You know what it's like to socialize normally and meet people naturally. [music] However, Gen Z grew up in this antisocial era, meaning we never got to experience a normal society. We never got to develop the social skills to chat with random strangers and connect with those in our community. And this lack of normal socialization has led Gen Z down this negative spiral where our lack of social skills causes us to meet less people, and meeting less people decreases our social skills. And this spiral continued for years, which is how Gen Z became the loneliness generation of all time. Surveys show that over a quarter of Gen Z have zero real friends.
Of course, some countries still have normal socialization culture like Vietnam or the Philippines. If you ever visit one of these countries, you'll get a glimpse at the way things are supposed to be and the way things used to be.
So, Gen Z can't find work, can't find love, can't build a real social life.
That's terrible, but hey, at least we're able to live comfortably, right? At least we're able to afford a roof over our heads, right?
If the job prices and loneliness epidemic wasn't enough, Gen Z is also struggling to obtain one of the basic staples of human life. One of the most basic human rights is being violently stripped away from us, having a place to live. Today, the median house price in the US is $400,000, and in many other countries around the world, the average house price is just as expensive, if not more.
But, it's not just the houses that have become ridiculously expensive, but apartments, too. The median cost of rent has nearly doubled since 1970s, and that's adjusted for inflation. This has forced Gen Z to spend a significant portion of our income on merely surviving, draining our bank accounts, and making it impossible to save up and buy anything valuable. And this didn't happen by accident. Over the past decades, large investment companies have poured billions of dollars into buying houses and apartments. Once bought, these companies place the houses and apartments back on the market as rental properties to continuously earn money from them. Houses and apartments that were supposed to provide shelter for ordinary people are being used as financial assets by these billionaires.
And it's not just the billionaires, but also the boomers and Gen X who have bought up millions of houses across the world in the past few decades.
As these people buy up hundreds of millions of houses across the world, the basic law of supply and demand starts to take effect, and housing prices start to rise dramatically. The result is a housing market where Gen Z can only dream of owning a house. For young people today, the only way to buy a house is to inherit money from their parents or earn a ridiculously high salary. But, wages for young people have only decreased over the years, while housing prices continue to climb, making buying a house pretty much impossible for the vast majority of us. And this largely contributes to Gen Z feeling so hopeless. A house is more than just a possession or asset. It's a gateway to many other important milestones in your life, like starting a family. Your house is a safe place where you know you belong. It's a place that is unconditionally your home that you can't get evicted from. In the past, people worked hard because they saw the light at the end of the tunnel. Their hard work allowed them to buy a house and start a family, and that goal brought purpose to their work. These things served as a reward for their contributions to society. But, for Gen Gen there is no reward. We're expected to work our asses off to contribute to society, filling the pockets of the corporate elites with billions of dollars without us receiving anything in return. And when billions of people across the world are forced to work to survive without getting anything valuable in return, work starts to feel a lot like slavery.
So, Gen Z is miserable. Now what? I know a lot of people are going to see this as a doomer video. Well, despite everything I'm saying, I'm actually very optimistic. And that's because I genuinely believe that things can change for the better. The takeaway here isn't that we're all doomed. The takeaway is for you to realize that you're not experiencing this hell on your own. We, as a generation, are experiencing this together. It doesn't matter where you're from. North America, South America, Europe, Africa, Asia, Australia, doesn't matter. It's the reason why I put this basic ass stock footage of the Earth in all my videos. These are universal problems that affect us from all around the world because, surprise surprise, greed and corruption exist everywhere.
Politics are getting extremely heated with almost all the big problems being framed as the left versus right.
Politics have led us to hate each other so much that we're forgetting we all go through the same problems. It doesn't matter if you're left-wing or right-wing, communist or fascist, Christian or Jewish or Muslim or atheist, the job market is cooked, rent is ridiculous, houses are impossible to buy, and we're more lonely than ever.
And these are problems that affect us a lot more than any of the issues that the politicians love to yap [music] about.
Yet, the real problems that actually affect us almost never get brought up in politics. So, maybe it's time to put our disagreements aside and stop playing so much into this political discourse.
Because if you really paid attention to what caused all the problems I mentioned in this video, you'll know that the real conflict isn't left versus right. It was never about left versus right. It has always been the corrupt elite at the top versus the working class at the bottom.
And the sooner Gen Z can realize this, the sooner we can fix the problems with our world.
