In the trading card collector's market, a card's value is determined by actual sales history and population reports, not personal opinion; celebrity product openings like Logan Paul's First Edition LOB box opening can increase market visibility and drive up prices, but this primarily affects rare Grandmaster rare sets while core sets remain available to consumers.

The Logan Paul Situation
Added:Oh boy, we get to talk about the Logan Paul situation with First Lob.
>> So, make sure you guys smash the crap out of that subscribe button so you guys don't miss out more content. I just got back uh had to actually take a nap and get some sleep before we could actually sit down and uh talk about everything's been going on. So, that's why videos are delayed right now the way they are. So, a couple of interesting things happened over the course of the weekend. One of them was Logan Paul's first edition LOB box opening and a lot of the stuff that kind of came with it. Um, a lot of people are like, well, don't don't give him attention, you know, but but we still have to it doesn't matter if you think that his first box opening was a good or bad thing. Point was product was still open and showcasing. There's a lot of misinformation about it. I I actually read a post from somebody over the weekend that was like, you know, first at LB boxes have no value. You know, a first at Exodia head is barely worth $100. And I you can tell they were engagement farming because reading through the comments, everybody's like, "I dare you to find an LO like light play to near mint head for $100."
Because these cards are the disconnect in reality that people seem to think that lob first egg cards go for versus, you know, graded vers even like ungraded. Do yourself a favor. If you're going to talk [ __ ] on lob first egg cards, please do some appropriate research to look into the cost of these cards because I I'm not going to defend the collector's market here and say anything, but first at LOB is the collector's like peak of this game. It is by far one of the rarest style of products out there. Don't just go, "Oh, you know, I I think that this card is worth." It doesn't matter what you think the card is worth. It is got a population in sales report versus what you are willing to pay. And this is what we get into with talking about. I know we're talking about the collector's market here a lot in this video, but the reality of the situation is it does not matter what you personally value a card at. If there's a sales history, people paying the price and things. This is your world. This is where everybody else is. Everybody else exists in this sphere. You can be off in La La Land.
All right. The reality situation is you're one person. All right? You're you're only going to get one piece of the the puzzle out here. So, it's amazing to me that people want to complain and [ __ ] on the collector side of the market and yet they themselves are uneducated when it comes to the realities of, you know, the pricing as to why these things are. I was also reading from people being like, you know, why are you spending so much money on lob boxes? Well, there once again, it's the same argument, you know, like this product is worth it. you know, seeing an LOB box being open, whether or not you you think the boxes are tampered with because uh there was a point where you pulled two ultras in one pack. I read from the uh Japanese side of things that a few people were like, "This is impossible to pull, you know, two ultra rares out of one pack." Um, no, it's not impossible. It's just you're dealing with a 0.0000.
Like I I don't know if the pack was tampered with. I don't know if you know it was broken. I don't I don't know. I don't care. Point was llb first was opened over the weekend. People got to see a lot of cool cards um you know kind of turning up. people got to actually see, oh hey, you know, an LB Exodia head, you know, somebody I I don't know if it was Logan's, you know, childhood dream to want to open of this product. I mean, I thought it was kind of cool to see. Um, but but the point is now more First Ed LOB has been open. More grading is going to kind of rotate through here.
And I I think that this is a good chance to kind of see, unfortunately, more eyes are going to be on the Yu-Gi-Oh market.
Um, another thing I was reading about from people was um everything pre and this is this is a crazy global statement. Everything and they're counting everything. Everything pre-overf Grandmaster Bears is worthless.
Where are you getting this? You know why? Okay, so first right now in the scope of things in terms of collectibility, Edison foils are going crazy right now for older formats. You know, this should have been the what in the world happened here video today. Um, first everything Edison format over the weekend has gone double down crazy from what I saw. All right, so older format stuff especially hat goat. I mean, hat and goat are a little bit less favorable, but Edison is up right now.
Um, you have had a metric crap ton of LB. First Ed's going crazy. Um, I cannot I I don't really dive super hard into the graded first ED market for LB, but over the last year since those grandmaster rares have been announced and all of that craziness, there has been a massive massive uptick in first dead lob collectibility and it is it is going absolutely crazy. The world championship cards are non-existent. the old replica cards for collectibility.
These were already extremely rare cards, but they're already doubling down on that creativity. Um, certain arts of Blue Eyes quarter centuries and that's the other thing too. You say that everything prequarter c like to say quarter centuries are worthless. That's crazy.
All right. We've already been seeing massive upticks in certain QCRs already.
every sector of the collector market is even go look back at like gladiators assault. Look at the the niche secret rares that were super short printed and available within that set. I mean that set's still popping up. Um sealed box products right now 25th blue eyes white dragon l have also skyrocketed to insane values. But Robbie, you know the set's not worth get the [ __ ] out of here, man.
The amount of uneducated people that don't understand the collective market is crazy to me. Like really crazy. So TLDDR out of the weekend. Logan Paul opened up first at LB boxes. People are mad at him for doing it. Um I people are like evidently you know some packed tampering might have happened. I don't know. I don't care. Um I wanted to report on the fact that you know more and more eyes are on the collector's market right now. we have more insight as to what's going on. There's probably going to be more I I want to say a larger uptick on Yu-Gi-Oh. Now, I don't know what percentile we're going to see. I mean, we've we've already seen people warning you when the Grandmaster rares got announced, you know, we saw more of an uptick happening within that sector. And no matter if you like are happy or whatever about having more eyes on Yu-Gi-Oh, it's getting the dog [ __ ] product to go up in price that's been dead setting on shelves. And if if it comes down to Logan Paul opening product and getting more eyes on Yu-Gi-Oh and getting more people excited for, you know, your locals, the inevitable domino effect here is Logan Paul opens product. Your LGS now has people more interested in product. That shelf warming product now disappears. They now think that Yu-Gi-Oh is less of a detrimental product. They want to buy more future product as product tends to get better. Then you as a consumer have a better chance to get things. But Robbie, you know, all the new products going to get bought out.
It's only going to really apply to the Grandmaster rare sets. You know, core sets are going to be fine. Chaos Origins will still be in stock. You'll still be able to get your product. You know, don't FOMO and freak out because Logan Paul put in a first head box thinking you're not going to get a box of Chaos Origins. It's 100% not going to be the case. You'll still be able to find the style product. Uh the implications for this going forward, I I just I think Yu-Gi-Oh gets better as the days go on.
You know, I I I to all the dead stores out there, this is just by far one of the best things ever. To the average Yu-Gi-Oh consumer freaking out that they're not going to be able to get product anymore. you are already not going to be able to get the grandmaster set as it is. Trust me, we've already seen and heard numbers on it. Uh, one guy commented was like, "Oh, you know, it's impossible for stores to have their allocations already."
Boy, you know nothing about the allocation system. That's crazy, man. I I know a lot of stores that are already getting their numbers and uh it is June and we're already seeing the Magnificent Monsters is crazy.
these stores, trust me, Dro is a entirely different creature. And you know, just cuz your store doesn't have numbers, they're probably lying to you.
They probably have their numbers or they just have a terrible distro. It's not getting the numbers, but okay. It's uh half of Europe, I've been told, already has numbers, too. So, we'll see. We'll see. So, yeah.
Interesting weekend, though. Guys, have a good rest of your day, right, >> patrons?
Thank you.
