CUCURELLA SIGNS FOR REAL MADRID!!! šØ
Added:Wow, wow, wow, wow. What on earth have I woken up to, people? I just just about rubbed the dust out of my eyes, the crust out of my eyes, and this guy Cooka has gone to Real Madrid. Here we go.
Here we go, guys. ā¬60 million, 55 million I think without the add-ons. And then 51 million pounds, 47 million pounds if you're not including the add-ons. This is not something I was expecting. We was all kind of sitting around waiting for Diego Simeone, Atletico Madrid. This is what he's going to go to. He's going to go and play in this kind of 442, this nononsense fullback, grit and determination fight.
Not a heavy possession system, not a pretty system. But no, he ends up going to the biggest club on the planet. And I was perplexed. I was confused until I remembered that Jose Mourinho was appointed and he's probably looking for intangible shitous as we can see with Bernardo Silva. He's brought in Kate and now Cookare. But I I'm not gonna lie, guys. I burst out of laughter when I seen the when I seen the news. That was my initial reaction, just to laugh. Just just I was just I was just perplexed. I couldn't I couldn't quite believe what I was what I was looking at. Um so, how do we go about breaking this down? Because nobody expected this. It came out of nowhere. It doesn't feel like there was any sort of negotiations, any sort of back and forth, any sort of, you know, tussle, which is something that we love to do, by the way. You know, certain deals we love to drag out, certain deals we love to get done incredibly quickly.
I don't know if there's, you know, if there's links, but for me, it's difficult. He's very polarizing. Now, I've always I've always loved him. You, you guys know that. Um, even when he had a struggle in his first season, then he was linked to go to Manchester United on loan.
I wasn't I wasn't for that move cuz I just felt like there was definitely something there. Obviously, this a player that we bought in for about 60 million pounds, 62 million, I think, all included initially. The book value is all good. We don't have to worry about that. But Man City, we're interested. We ended up getting him and outside of a nice early patch under Thomas Tukul the rest of the season done like it under Graham pot everybody struggled but he wasn't he wasn't good and that's why we were considering loaning him out to Man United a lot of people were considering it anyway but he picked himself up he had a recovery he had a Roman Tandada and you have to respect it very similar to Georgino a lot of people wrote him off and he recovered and he responded um un under under PCH at the back end obviously last five games kind of got moved into a new position um started to become an inverted fullback and then he kicked on from there. Won with Spain and then went on to have a great season under Moresco.
Now I've always said when people have asked me this right, you know I'm in Canada at the moment. People have come up to me and said, "What's your take on cooker?" And I've always said it depends on the system. If we're playing a back four, I want him to I want him to stay because I feel like he could play left back. He could he could be serviceable at very least. He could be very good.
good. I mean, for me, he's one of the top left backs in Europe on his day, but last season 2026, he dropped off. He fell off, right? So, we have to put that into into perspective. Hatau definitely had a better season in the end. Um, when you take into account that 2026, but he's he's more than capable of bringing those intangibles and just playing on that left back spot and giving his all, right? We know his limitations. We know what he can and can't do. But he wasn't first in line to be sold. Taking away all the Barcelona links, taking away all the flirting or all the links. If we're just talking pure player quality and the issues that we have at the football club and what we need to replace and what we need to replenish, he's not the first player that we're looking at, right? So, I wasn't I wasn't asking to get rid of him, but if we were going to play with wing backs, which we don't know under Jabono, we don't know what system, what formation we're going to play. We have to wait till preseason. Maybe he's going to want to be flexible between the two, which means we're going to need very versatile players. So, we don't have to, you know, buy solely for each position profile-wise. He He's not going to work in a wing back position. We've seen it multiple times towards the back end of the season. We saw it in particular against Man City in FA Cup final. This guy cannot play left wing back and give any sort of athleticism, any sort of width, any sort of crossing ability, any sort of ability to go past the man. His passing is pretty average as well. He doesn't bring those flying wing back, flying fullback attributes or qualities.
So, I was open to selling him if that was going to be the system, but he's gone and he's gone early um before the World Cup. Shocking. Like I said, perplexed, bamboozled, but but I'm not I'm not angry. I see a lot of you guys are online are angry. Now, I get it. Do I trust these directors? Absolutely not.
Absolutely not. I don't trust them.
Yeah, I don't trust them whatsoever. I don't trust them to go out there and go and replace him properly. And that's why I get why you're angry. But he's 27.
He's going to turn 28 in July. I think his new contract that he signed or didn't sign has only got a year, maybe two left. I'm not surprised in in terms of the fact that he's leaving because we always asked ourselves this question.
What is Clear Lake going to do when they have a player coming towards their late 20s that isn't completely untouchable?
Even the cooker fans out there, I don't think we'll sit here and say he's untouchable, completely out of the realms of possibility can be replaced.
We just don't trust the the board to replace him. But we can replace him in terms of finding another left back, maybe like a Lewis Hall, etc. Someone that can cross, someone that is maybe quicker, that can carry the ball. Just changes the perspective of that position a bit for us, but we don't trust.
But this was the answer. They said, "What's going to happen if if we don't win?" And we we just found out. We finished 10th. We didn't get any trophies. We wanted to find out what would happen if we didn't win. And we just found out this is the this is the consequence. It's a result. And we know we need to raise capital. We know we need to raise money. Now, ideally, you get rid of the bums. Ideally, you get rid of the bozos. You start there and you and you leave the key players out of it. And that's what everybody wants. But the bozos and the bums, those teams, not only do they lack the resources, lack the funds to to sign those players because they're lower down in the pecking order in the food chain, but also they know that we don't want them.
We we created a whole bomb squad for sake. So they know that we don't want them and therefore they know that they can drag those deals right to the end of the window. They don't have to be in a rush. Those players aren't sought after. No one's no one's begging to sign Dasi. Nobody's begging to sign Badia Shaw or Tossin. No one's begging to sign the lap. No one's begging to sign Ganacho. So these players most likely if they're going to leave, they're going to have to leave towards the end of the window. And we've seen that before. We know that, right? What does that mean?
If they leave at the end of the window in a buy to sell model where you need money to buy players, to fix holes in the squad, we have to start creating more holes. We have to start selling players that we maybe didn't anticipate selling to have the money to go and buy.
And yeah, [laughter] you've created a hole. Now you got to fill it, but they'll probably fill it. you'd like to think cheaper than what they've sold it for. Maybe, who knows? Like I said, it's it's 47 million pounds, 50 52 million pounds depending on what the add-ons are, fixed fees, all these things. But yeah, like I said, with Kakarea, he he leaves with all the love for me. He leaves no no animosity, no anger. I understand why he doesn't want to finish his late 20s, early 30s at Chelsea. We are a project, a failing project. We're a team that haven't built a team to win.
We're still trying to figure that out.
These guys are doing a horrendous job at doing it and he doesn't have time to waste. If anyone's angry at Cookare for leaving, you need to you need to really you need to really reflect and and deep what you're saying because the guy's been here from the very beginning of the project. He signed under Todd Bowie, right? He signed with, like I said, Aubameyang, he signed with Fana, he signed with um, you know, and I think it was uh Cassad for sake, the Italian Michael Balac. All these players, he's been here long enough. How much more time does he need to give it?
He wants to win and there's no better club to go to. I mean, they've had a couple of poor seasons, of course, in La Liga, but there's no better club to go to in terms of just wanting to win right now. You can see with the signings they're making at Real Madrid, they're going for proven. They're going for experience. They're going for players that are ready right now um on top of what they already have. They're going to be pushing. That's what he wants to be a part of. You can't you can't you can't be against the owners and be and and and be aware and understanding of all the the faults and all the issues at the football club and then get angry at Cooker for wanting to move to Real Madrid. I'm sure there's nobody out there, but I'm just covering all bases.
There's no way that makes any sense.
There's no logic to that. So, he leaves with all the love. Like I said, I'm I'm happy for him. I'm not angry about the situation. This is a consequence of what happened when we finished 10th, when we didn't get any Europe, when we didn't win any trophies, and he's not completely irreplaceable. And if we are playing wing backs, then this is a good thing. If we're playing back four, then Hatau could go over there and you're still going to have to go and buy someone else as well. And you've got to get that correct. But yeah, for me, it's it's one of those things where you just have to take it on the chin, as as Big Steve would say, take it on the chin.
He's a good He's a very very good player. He could potentially hopefully maybe this is Copium. He might just be starting to to drop off hopefully. You know, he's turning 28 in July. That's that's waffle. He's not he's he probably won't. I'm sure he'll be fine in La Liga, but you know, he didn't have a great end to 2026. But yeah, this one this one was shocking. This one bamboozled me. And this one really really Does it sting? I I I guess I'll answer that at the end of the transfer window if it stings. But yeah, Koker to Real Madrid. Here we go. 5147 million pounds depending on if you're including fixed fees and and add-ons.
And Chelsea now need a left back. Let's see if these lot can actually go and bring in what is required. I have no confidence. I have no vote of confidence for them. But hey ho, this is their opportunity to go and get that done. So let me know what you think in the comments down below. Big up for the love on the last video. Off the painkillers.
We're recovering. We're looking well and um yeah, let's see what else this transfer window has in store cuz I was not expecting
