A brain hemorrhage is a serious medical emergency where blood accumulates on the brain, causing increased intracranial pressure that can lead to midline shift (brain displacement) and potentially life-threatening complications like stroke or seizures; modern neurosurgery can treat this condition through minimally invasive laparoscopic techniques, such as threading instruments through the arterial system to place titanium coils that stop bleeding, with recovery typically involving 5-6 weeks of monitoring before follow-up scans.

Sorry I Disappeared... I Had Brain Surgery
Added:Welcome back to the Undead Chill YouTube channel. It is Poppy and guys, it is really, really good to be here. Some of you will already know that Poppy had to have emergency brain surgery a couple of weeks ago, more than a couple of weeks ago. It's been a month now. Um, what a crazy month it has been though. And so, yeah, I wanted to just jump on here, give you guys a few updates about the channel. Um, so many of you have reached out to me. First of all, thank you guys so much for just, you know, being patient with me, being so lovely. Thanks for all the good thoughts, the prayers, the good vibes, all of it. I appreciate it so, so much. So, yeah, I'm going to share some updates about the channel and then guys, the brain surgery story is crazy. And so, if you want to hear the story of Poppy's brain surgery, then watch this video all the way to the end cuz I'll share the craziness at the end.
Okay, so update wise, the first thing I want to say is that I'm super excited because we are going to be participating in streamer weekend this weekend. So, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, we're going to be streaming the new 7 days update. We're going to be checking out all of those sandbox options, and I'm hoping that we get to have a lot of fun doing that. So, come join us for that if you'd like. will be live starting on Friday at 11 a.m. [clears throat] Now, I do want to kind of explain as well though that we are still kind of in the midst of recovery obviously after, you know, having freaking brain surgery. So, while I will be joining in on streamer weekend, we're not going to be fully jumping back into our regular content quite yet. I have lots of doctor's appointments still to um attend to. Um, and I'm also still kind of, you know, battling a little bit of fatigue after surgery. And so, um, yeah, we're we're still kind of taking care of ourselves and still kind of like building our strength back up, but we will be back on a regular basis very very soon. I want to quickly just talk about the two series that we were doing before all of the madness began. We were doing the area 7 challenge as well as um, our last librarian series. So, both of those series are going to get endings. I promise. The area 7 challenge, I've actually already recorded the finale for that. I was halfway through editing it when, you know, brain surgery called my name. And so, I'm going to finish that edit and I will be posting that final video um in that series next week. So, if you haven't checked it out, make sure you do that now. You've got plenty of time to catch up before I drop that finale next week. And I also, like I said, promise that the last librarian will get her day. [laughter] So, um, yeah, just patiently wait for that because again, Poppy has all of the doctor's appointments coming her way.
Okay, I think that's really all of the updates I have for the channel. Um, I miss you guys so much. If you want to come hang out, I'm always in the Discord, you know, watching all the nonsense that's going on there. Um, so come join the Discord. The link for that is down in the description box below.
Now, for those of you left, you're here to hear the magical story of Poppy's brain surgery. Guys, get ready for this nonsense. Are you ready? I'm going to try to I'm going to try to make this as short as possible, guys. But long story short, Poppy woke up one day with a headache. Why am I talking about myself in the third person? I don't know. But I woke up one morning and I had a headache, which was kind of unusual because I don't normally get headaches.
And this one was pretty bad. And I remember that day thinking, you know, maybe if I go to sleep, I'll wake up and my head will have stopped hurting. Now, spoiler alert, it did not stop hurting.
So, when I woke up the next day, head was still hurting. I was starting to think a little bit about what was coming. I was supposed to actually fly that day. I was going going on a trip for a few days and I was a little worried cuz I just thought maybe I shouldn't fly with my head like this.
And um man, guys, I came really close to getting on that plane. My sister actually came to pick me up to take me to the airport and um shout out to my sister Dovey because she really saved my life honestly. So when she got there to pick me up, she was kind of like, "You still got the headache. It seems like it's really bad. Maybe we should go to the urgent care." And when I get to the urgent care, my blood pressure is really high. They give me some medication and the doctor's like, "You're going to come back and see me uh like in a day or two.
Um and I want you to monitor your blood pressure, right?" So, I go out and I buy this like, you know, one of those like blood pressure cuffs to measure my blood pressure. I go get this medication that she's giving me. And I'm just like a little kind of like, well, that's weird.
And I wonder if that's what this headache is about, you know, type of thing. I wake up the next morning and the headache was like on another level.
I took my blood pressure that morning and it was crazy high. 235 over 110. So immediately, you know, I tell my sister this and she's just like, "Okay, put your clothes on. We're going to we're going to the hospital." So, go to the hospital. They do all kinds of testing.
One of the things they do is they scan my head. And I want to tell you guys, I've never been more shocked when the doctor comes into the room and tells me that we well, we did a scan of your head and we we found blood like on your brain. So, she's asking me all these questions like if I've been in a car accident, if I've hit my head and I hadn't done either of those things and so I was again just still in shock cuz [laughter] I'm just expecting her to come in and be like, "We can't find anything, girl. Go home and you'll be fine." You know, um within maybe 10 minutes, guys, I was at a smaller hospital near my house. Within 10 minutes, I was in the back of an ambulance and they were moving me to a larger hospital here in Vegas because she was immediately kind of like, "You need to see a neurosurgeon. Like, they're going to they have to do something, you know, about the pressure that's building in your head." Um, so yeah, within 24 hours I was having surgery. Um, the cool thing is like they didn't have to crack my head open. Um, they actually did the surgery like laparoscopically. They went through an artery in my leg and then snaked their way all the way up to my brain. Guys, what? The human body is just amazing.
Like, who knew you could do that?
[laughter] Um, they basically decided to put titanium coils in my head so to help stop any bleeding or any further bleeding. Um, the other kind of scary part is that the pressure in my head, you know, was building so much, hence my blood pressure as well. But I also experienced what they call a midline shift because of the pressure that was building. My brain was actually pressing up against the left side of my head which is where my headache came from. So that's really bad also.
And I mean just I got to say like throughout the whole process it just is like I feel so like blessed guys and like lucky to still be here honestly because so many of the things that happened from my brain moving in my head that is very bad to even the fact that my blood pressure was so high. Um the fact that there was bleeding in my head.
I could have had a stroke at any time. I could have had seizures. I could so many different things could have happened if I had gotten on the airplane. You know, the doctor pretty clearly like said to me that would have been like pretty very bad. Like you would probably not still be here if you'd gotten on the plane. So once again, shout out to my sister.
Don't tell her I said nice things about her. Just kidding. She's the best. She's taken such good care of me also, you guys, since I've been home. But anyway, so yeah, Poppy had to have brain surgery. She now has a metal in her head. Um, I'm doing really well. Um, I'm just waiting right now because after surgery, they like to give um like a good amount of time, like usually 5 to 6 weeks before they then rescan your brain so that they can see whether or not the surgery was fully successful. So, I'll be getting my scan done in a couple of weeks and that will determine whether or not they kind of release me to just go home and, you know, fully recover. I um really the only symptoms I'm dealing with after surgery is I still have a headache. Um it's nowhere near as drastic as the headache I had at the beginning, but I just have this kind of constant headache, which they told me I'm going to have that for a little bit until my brain goes back to where it's supposed to go. Um and then the other thing is just fatigue. Um which is getting better, which is really exciting, which is why I'm even doing streamer weekend. Yeah, pretty much.
When I first got out of the hospital, it was like I could hardly do anything without just feeling completely wiped out. But yeah, that is where we're at.
We are, you know, um just trying to continue to recover. Um, it's going to take me a little bit to recover fully, but um, I'm trying really hard to just give myself the space to do that well, which is why it's like I'm excited to participate in streamer weekend, but I also know I still have lots going on in terms of my recovery. And so, it'll be a little bit before I am back fully. But I just feel, like I said, just really just grateful honestly for the outcome. So, there you go. I will stop talking now guys. Thank you so much. if you listened all the way to the end. I know so many of you have been, you know, asking me lots of questions about everything. So, there you go. Anyway, guys, thank you so much for being here and I will hopefully see some of you this weekend. Pop into the stream anytime, come say hello. Um, and uh, yeah, I would love that. Okay, thank you guys so much for watching and for listening and I will see you soon.
Okay, bye.
