[00:00:00]We have a significant development right now. Centrist Democrats who voted to fund ICE just a week ago are coming out in droves and apologizing, saying they regret their vote. And not just that, they're calling Alex Pretty's death a murder. And it comes as Donald Trump is desperately looking for an off-ramp. So much so that he's spoken to Governor Tim Walz today and said that it was a nice call. This morning, Democratic Congressman Tom Suozzi put out a statement saying, quote, "I failed to view the DHS funding vote as a referendum on illegal and immoral conduct of ICE in Minneapolis. I hear the anger from my constituents and I take responsibility for that." He then said, quote, "The senseless and tragic murder of Alex Pretty underscores what happens when untrained federal agents operate without accountability." That's a stunning statement from a moderate Democrat. One who I guarantee would not have put out the statement but for the horrific murder. Now, I'm not excusing any of this. The vote shouldn't have happened in the first place. But this really is a watershed moment that people need to know about. And it comes as Donald Trump spoke with Governor Walz today. Now, Trump says he had a good call with Governor Walz and that their teams are going to be in communication because it really seems as though the president and his team are actively looking for an off-ramp here. They know this isn't good for them.
