The sneaker industry demonstrates cyclical market dynamics where brands like Jordan are reducing releases of popular silhouettes (Jordan 1 Highs) while focusing on other models, and major athlete partnerships (Steph Curry's 10-year deal with Li-Ning) are reshaping global sneaker market dynamics, with Chinese brands gaining significant influence in the basketball footwear space.

Our Favorite Sneakers of 2026 (So Far...)
Added:What is up, boys? We are halfway through the year, so that means today we are going to go through our top sneakers that have released so far. There's been a lot. These are our personal favorites, so you know, have fun with it. Besides that, we've been on a little bit of a hiatus, so we got a lot of sneaker news to cover, including a 10-year deal with Steph Curry and Marcus Jordan is closing Trophy Room. So, sit back, relax, and enjoy this episode.
Okie dokie. So, we want to start off with our list or some news and then incorporate the list later. What you thinking?
>> Let's Let's start with the list. Let's start with the list. Let me pull mine up. I >> think it'd be fun, right?
>> Yeah. I'll let you uh I'll let you rip first.
>> That sounds good. So, >> go five to one. We're just doing top five.
>> Yeah. Top five. Just the sneakers. I went with the shoes that I've just been like wearing a lot that have released this year that I really like. I know there's been a lot of crazy releases this year already. I didn't pick up a lot of them, but I think for me I'm going to go with Let me see if I could pull this up real quick. My number five, the New Balance 993 Passion Fruit. I think this colorway is just >> interesting. Interesting >> mint. And it's uh it's a fun one, dude.
Teddy Santis has been crushing it with his Made in USA collection with New Balance. And this one was probably the standout pair for me this year, at least from what we've seen so far. And, you know, been rocking them around a lot recently. I get compliments on them every time I wear them because it's kind of a whoa shoe when you see it in public. But that's my number five. Not too shabby.
>> That's a good number five. Um, >> thank you, sir.
The uh my number five is probably one that you're maybe gonna agree with. I don't know.
You've been you've been uh not necessarily in love with it according to your one of your more recent videos. Let me share my screen here.
>> Um there we go.
>> Jordan Low Band.
>> Um I do >> just a good daily. Materials are good. I was kind of hyped on this one before it even dropped. So, uh, definitely a fan of this one. I've been wearing them a lot. So, I kind of did the same just stuff that I've been wearing recently, and this has been one of those.
>> We were both definitely hyped for this when we first heard the uh, rumors and leaked photos. I still love the shoe, and I'm going to be wearing it a lot, but, you know, I have a few gripes about them. We've talked about it off the pod.
>> I've seen better and I've seen much worse, but I definitely don't mind them.
Uh my number four is another one that I apparently was uh talking smack on the internet with. I don't know. People got their minds all twisted. Uh I went with the Bad Bow one.
>> It's a shoe I love. But I made a carousel post asking if, you know, the Bad Bunny sneaker fell off because I haven't seen anybody wearing it personally. And, you know, I'm out and about a lot. And I typically clock what people are wearing. I think I've only ever seen one other person wearing them.
So, it's one I would like to see a lot more of. I know we've only seen three colorways. The first one, these were super limited.
The last one we got with the black and gray, I didn't think was the strongest color way, but it's a cool shoe. First signature silhouette, reminiscent of some OG skate stuff from Adidas. I think it's a good one. I just want to see more colorways. That's just it's my only gripe. But Bad Bow won.
>> That's fitting. That's fitting. Um yeah, that's not bad there. I agree with that one.
Um, all right. My number four. My number four. Uh, I do have, it's interesting because I have a couple on here of shoes that I've not picked up yet. So, yeah.
>> Um, this is one of them. This is one that I would like to pick up. There's two of them in particular that are on here on ones that I would like to pick up. Um, yeah, >> I got the Brick After Bricks. I >> I wasn't a huge fan of the first one.
Uh, I like the retro inspired Fire Red 4 vibe on this one. Um, and this is one that again I've been liking for since we saw leaked images of I just wasn't fortunate enough to hit on them. And um the only the only problem with these is I feel like once I get them in I'm not going to like the redesigned Jordan 4 model still. So I don't know. We'll see.
But I like this one. So I had to put at the four.
>> I think they did a good job with them.
And I've watched a few YouTubers unboxing them, giving their thoughts.
The general consensus is they're pretty good. I mean, quality, materials, no real complaints. Um, >> yeah. I mean, I think it's a good shoe.
It's one I would love to get, but I just I don't see a reason for me to own it because I know it's just going to sit in a box like the Brick by Bricks that are just in the closet collecting some dust.
>> Fair enough.
>> Is what it is. My number three, one I've been running in a lot, the Hyper Boost Edge. Big fan of Adidas Boost. And this just feels like the boost shoe we've been waiting on for years. Obviously, there's pros and cons to the silhouette.
We've also seen a ton of leaked. I don't know if they're prototype samples, whatever's going on, but they plan to do a lot with this midsole structure, reworking the upper a little bit. I thought the Hyperboost Edge was a great start. The color way was sick. We also have a few other colorways hitting the market. The green I think is just like >> the EQ2 EQT.
>> Dude, I want them so bad. The blues are good. The white, the black, like they've had a pretty good run already. Very curious to see how these do the rest of the year. And I mean, I'm going to keep running in them because they feel like a dream on your feet. That's my number three.
>> I like it. That's a good one. Um, my number three. Let me confirm that these dropped this year. Yes, they did. Um, another one. This is the other one that I'm I still have not picked up yet. And based on the prices, I feel like I just need to bite the bullet and pick them up because it's uh ridiculously cheap in comparison. I got the uh Off-White Jordan 1 Alaska. Um >> I'm shocked I haven't picked this one up yet. I don't know. Um >> I think I'm just gonna have to do it here at some point. $4.95.
Little >> I don't know.
>> Not bad.
>> It's not bad. It's not bad >> compared.
>> Yeah. So, yeah, it's it's one that like for me was like the first shoe I spent a lot of money on back when I was reselling. Um they just have a cool place in my heart. So, I'd love to get a pair of these and wear them. I'm kind of waiting for like the honestly, as hyped as this shoe is, I'm waiting for the hype piece to kind of stop wearing it.
Um yeah, >> so then I can kind of pop them out. But it's kind of one of those deals where I don't know. I I don't like wearing what everyone else is wearing at the current point in time. So like I like to let it breathe a little bit and then pop these out and people are like, "Oh, we got these on." So I don't know. It's one of those >> Let it settle a little bit.
>> Exactly.
>> Let it settle.
>> Might find a nice used pair or something like that, too. So I'm kind of waiting for that. But yeah, >> I'm sure you will.
>> Off-white should number three for me.
That was one of those that was like really hard to not put on my list. There were a few. I can't remember the others off the top of my head. The um the Union Jordan one collection I thought was really strong. Obviously, the Virgils.
There was just a lot of like really good stuff that you would have assumed would be super super hyped that dropped this year.
>> It's kind of been I don't know kind of like in the middle.
A lot of people are really hyped. some other people chill. But >> that was one that was hard to not include. My uh number two will probably be my number one by the end of the year, but it's the uh the Piggy Runners. Dude, they did so good. They did so good. I got >> You got to pick a color.
>> That's the hardest part. And I was I also haven't wore them that much yet.
Like now that we're entering summer where it's super hot, these are so breathable. I'm kind of just curious to see which I gravitate towards more and start actually wearing them.
>> At the moment, I think the green >> takes the cake just because the AE Obama moment. Previewing these in Paris I thought was really cool.
>> Uh, and this is the one that like >> I feel like was the staple of the collection cuz it was the most different. All the others were like shades of red, orange, yellow. These were >> fair enough. little bit different. Uh, and I just think they did a good job, dude. Phil crushed it. So, like I said, more than likely this will be number one by the end of the year, but I haven't worn them as much as I would like. So, we'll see. We'll see. Fair enough. Uh, all right. My number two recent pickup simply I've been wearing them a ton.
I've always wanted one of these collaborations. Um, it's kind of a subtle collab. There was a Christmas collab that came out I think two years ago that I always wanted and um this was an instore exclusive that I got access to. Shout out to Cran. Um we got the Kith Solomon collab. Um we got a road trip coming up next week so these are going to get a lot of wear and tear. Um it's a great hiking shoe. It's a great mutter. It's just a good daily beater because it's all black. Then you still get the kith element in there which is kind of fun. So big fan of these. I I don't even know what the price is on >> Wow, they're expensive. Ah, size 11 350.
>> That's not bad. That's not bad.
>> The white pair was the original one that I wanted, but they sold out at the store. So, let's see what those are going for.
>> About the same in between three and 500.
>> Not bad. But the Yeah, the Christmas one. I don't know if they have it sitting here, but the uh Yeah, here it is. Kithmas. These ones I really liked.
These are cheap. 200 bucks.
>> That's not bad.
>> That's like basically retail. That's under retail if I'm not mistaken. Under retail. Yeah. No, that's not bad. So, yeah, that was the uh number three, Kiss Alman.
>> I I might have to scoop those up, dude.
I'm a big fan. Um my number one pair is just one that I've been wearing nonstop. Super basic >> NPC shoe, the GTS10.
in this white and cream color way. I would also throw this the yellow ones in there, too, because I've kind of been swapping back and forth between the two.
>> All right.
>> But, my god, so comfortable. I already got a few friends wearing these. And they agree. They're like, "These are the ones. These are the ones. Probably going to wear them into the ground this summer and have to refresh and get some new pairs." But as it stands, most worn shoe. Love it.
>> That's a good one. That's a good one.
Yeah, I wore my pairs quite a bit. Um, our guy just hit me up literally yesterday and said there was an ordering error and my pair is finally coming, the the cream pair that I've been waiting for. So, I'm pretty pumped about those.
>> Um, yeah, that's a good one. That's a good one. Um, >> you're going to love them.
>> All right, my number one. Uh, I did pick a colorway.
>> I got the uh the Piggy Runners. I got the the Steos Piggy Runner 2.0. This one I just I don't know. It's basically like regardless of all the other colorways that dropped, if it was just this one, >> it'd be a really good 2.0 piggy is kind of what I was saying at like drop day and stuff. So, um >> I agree.
>> Yeah. I mean, for 150 bucks, these are a great pickup. So >> definitely >> I feel like this one >> is going to be my most worn because I can wear it to Braves games and be like >> outside in them.
>> Yeah, fair enough.
>> Just an all red shoe. Like I feel like it's a good one, dude. They're literally out right on top of the box over there just waiting to be worn. So they're calling to me, dude. They're calling me.
>> I love it. So there is our top five to wrap up halfway through the year. Um, comment your top five. I'm curious what other people have.
>> Seriously. And bash ours. I'm sure you'll have stuff to say about that. Uh, what you been up to, though? We kind of missed a week there. Both got really busy. I know you've been all over the place, but uh, what's new? Know you have some new hardware as well, right?
>> It's been uh, yeah, so we weren't on last week. Um, we will have a podcast next week. The following week we will not. Um, but then we will be back first week of July. Um, I know we both have some travel coming up that we'll get to. But yeah, I got uh we had a little mishap on last I don't even know when it was. Last Friday, maybe Saturday. Um, >> yeah, it was Friday, I think.
>> I had uh a new pickup coming in the mail. It was I was in New York last week from Monday to Thursday. So I was gone working. The new pickup had to sign for signature. So I was like waiting for it all day and then it finally came on Friday and um sure enough FedEx showed up. Dog started barking. Laptop was sitting on the table and Abby kind of was working as well. Got flustered and my water bottle was open. Spilled all over my laptop. Um and it was like a full 32 ounces. I probably spilled 20 ounces of water on it. just soaked it like completely soaked it.
>> Um instantly it was toast. I think it was on at the same time so the screen shorted out right away. Um dried it off as best as we could. Like I let it sit in rice for half an hour and went take a shower and then I was like I don't know what to do. So then I went to the Apple store and like even when I went to the Apple store we were opening it up and water was coming out of the keyboard. So um yeah he was basically like your toast. Uh, which is a bummer because I think it had like 1,500 two grand worth of trade-in value, which is >> I'm sure >> basically just light that on fire. Um, great laptop. It was an M1 Max, so I think I spent 4,200 bucks sophomore year of college. I had it on payment plans. I was like, I'm an investor myself, my craft, and like this is going to be worth it. And it was worth it. It was it got all of its money's worth um by many times over. So, it was a great investment. But when stuff like that happens, all you got to do is say it's okay and it's not that big of a deal and it happens. So, um was not mad at the misses or anything like that. If she did it intentionally, that would be different, but it was a complete accident.
>> That'd be crazy.
>> So, yeah, it's just one of those things.
Um I don't know. It happens. It is what it is. Um, yeah. So, I uh ended up basically figuring out like, hey, I if I want to order one of the M15 Pros, like the Pro Maxes, or basically the equivalent of what I had, but the new chip, it's like 6,200 bucks, which is like ouch. Um, >> and I was like, you know what? I was going to wait till fall because if I'm not mistaken, they're redesigning them in OLEDs and they're like finally changing the body. And so I'm like, I don't really want to spend six bands on like a laptop that's going to be completely redesigned in 4 months. So I got a M5 Pro with like the lowest RAM I could possibly get, like 24 gigs. It was $2,200. Um, I got a 14inch, too, which is a little different. I have had a 16inch, but I was like, I don't want to I want to spend the cheapest that I can get four months down the road with so that I can ball out and get a sick one.
Um, >> yeah.
>> So that's what we got. We got the all black. So, I got a few different options. Just kind of testing it out.
The 14-in, I don't know. It It's forcing me to use my monitors now, where the 16-in, I liked kind of being able to edit anywhere. It's a lot better at the coffee shop. I'll say that. Um, and honestly, the editing workload, it's handling it because it's fresh. I think if I go a year and a half down the line, it would start to bog down. But that's where like the M1 Max was so overkill that I went five years and it was like handling everything fine. So, um I that's the plan for the hardware. Um it is what it is, but we uh >> it's just unfortunate timing.
>> It's like really this couldn't have happened like >> in December or >> y >> whenever. I don't know.
>> But I >> But uh yeah, and then uh yeah, so I was in New York last week. We had a good uh good trip with Blazer stuff. Otherwise, I've been golfing. I got to uh got to play Where did I play? When did I play?
Where was it? I played I know I played Hazeline. It was on last Monday. It was a media day for the LPGA KPMG um PGA Championship there, which is super cool. So, I was just before this podcast, I was editing some of the content for that. Um very cool experience there. That was like a once in a-lifetime like play with a bunch of other like creators and stuff. It was the first time they've ever done a creator day for it. We got to play the course in championship conditions and we got to try all the food and it was really cool. So um shout out to the uh Minnesota PGA SE section for that uh experience. Um and then I'll have to tell you about this after the pod, but we got another pretty cool experience coming next month. So um but besides that, yeah, I've been playing some golf.
Um played yesterday at the Wilds in Minnesota. That place is phenomenal. I got invited out there. Shout out to uh Kaylee out there. I got some cool stuff coming on that as well. But um yeah, I got to play some golf yesterday with my dad and then uh we're getting for our ready for our road trip next Wednesday.
We're going. So we're going for couple weeks. We're going to go to B. We're going to go to Glacier. We're going to go out to Oregon. Um I'm going to play some cool golf courses. I got a tea time at Bandon Dunes for the people that are listening. They know. Um and B Springs as well, which is pretty sweet. So it is snowing up in B. So, we got to compensate that, which is a little bit of a bummer, but >> um No, it's been good. I bought a we bought a roof rack for the Honda. So, we got a big like topper for some extra storage this time around, which is pretty clutch.
>> Um so, yeah, it's been good. I'm bringing the golf club, so you got to have some extra storage. So, um >> yeah.
>> Yeah. Before I get to uh pickups, what about you? How's the last week and a half been or two weeks? I mean, really?
>> It's been kind of busy. I'm starting to get some brand deal stuff coming in. So, it's a lot of like concept calls, writing out ideas and scripts and seeing what lands with them. But, >> uh I think two days ago I hopped on the Best Foot Forward podcast with our boy >> Harrison over in Australia. So, that was >> a lot of fun. and he we uh talk all the time and I always end up getting busy.
But now that it's been kind of like a more slow season, I can finally start doing other stuff. So, it was good to sit there and chat with him for about an hour or so on his platform. Um taking a lot of photos, doing a lot of videos.
Uh we also decided very last minute to go back to Paris. We were literally there like two months ago and now we're just gonna go back. I had a few friends hit me up saying, "Hey, you should come.
Let's kick it." And I was like, "Nah, that's that's dumb. We probably shouldn't do that." And then start talking to the misses. And I'm like, "Yo, wouldn't this be stupid?" And she's like, "Well, you know, it may not be stupid. you know, you can socialize and talk to all these brands, meet some people, make a good time of it. So, ended up pulling the trigger. So, the wife and I will be heading out for Paris Fashion Week, basically the entire week, hanging out with mainly kicking it with Phil and his fiance. Then also meeting up with Peter Barry from Brooks, meeting up with some guys from Converse, probably AS6, New Balance, hopefully some Nike stuff, we'll see, as well as Adidas. So, I'm just kind of putting out my feelers to all the contacts I've accumulated over the years of being a creator and just kind of being like, "Hey, I'll be there. What's up? Let's uh see what all is going on."
Hopefully get to visit a lot of the showrooms, preview, showcase a lot of the product that I get to see there and take you guys along with me because it's something I've always wanted to do but never did it. I always told myself, hey, let's just ride it out until hopefully a brand decides to bring me out. And instead, we were like, screw it. Let's just go ourselves, >> make our own content, whatever we can compensate it because brands are paying you in other brand deals. So, exactly.
So, it's like, well, go out there. I already have one deal locked in for the trip that is a smaller deal, but it's it's for like an EIM company, which I'm actually like really stoked for because I've never used an EIM. So, management reached out for to a few different companies and we're kind of >> nailing down what may work with that.
And, you know, in the past, I've I have AT&T and I think they charge you like 15 or $20 a day just to use your phone overseas. And I'm like, it uh that AT&T phone bill a month after I go on a trip always is just like a jab to the heart cuz I get the text message, you're about to be charged >> $350 this month or $400. And I'm like, for what? Oh god, I forgot we were just on a trip. So that'll be >> that'll be good. I'm very curious to see the price difference because if it's worth it, then like for sure I'll do that every time. But >> Mhm.
>> We'll see. Should be a good time though.
I'm excited to finally go on an international trip and like meet up with people I know because haven't really done that in the past. It's always just me and the wife >> going wherever.
>> Vacation style. It's a little different.
>> A little bit more work focused, but it'll be fun to explore and you know experience these places with some friends as well. I do think it's really funny because there's this one little neighborhood we typically stay in in Paris because it's a little bit further away from all the touristy stuff. It's a little more >> Mhm.
>> like an everyday what your life would be like in Paris neighborhood. Like it's just all locals there >> and that is where majority of the sneaker showrooms are going to be. So after talking to like Peter Barry I was like what hotel you staying in? Where's the Brooks one? Where's this and this?
And turns out it's all in the same neighborhood we typically stay in. So, we're going to be in the exact same place we were two months ago. And I'm like, cool. I know where everything is.
All the good eats, all the good bars, best way across the city. So, it'll be definitely easier.
>> That's perfect.
>> Yeah, dude. So, very stoked on that.
Trying to think if there's been anything else.
I don't think so. I guess we can talk about few little pickups. If you want to go first, I'm curious to see what you got.
Um, sorry, I'm just replying to the uh misses. Um, >> all right. So, the fun one that was coming when the laptop broke um was uh a new watch pickup. So, I just got my uh Speedy, my Omega Speed Master. um the regular speed master, but I worked with a company called Arena Club that my buddy Ben connected me with. Shout out Ben. Um I think he listens to the podcast, so shout out Ben. I think he's told me that. Um he got connected with me. They're big into trading cards. So they actually just did their blind trading cards. It's um spend a certain amount of money like 100 bucks, you get a card that's anywhere from I don't know 50 to 10,000. like it's just like a blind unboxing basically. Um but then the cool part is you can actually have the card shipped to you. Um so I've done numerous of those just kind of digging around, but they got into watches and so they did blind watch boxes and time boxes. Um 250 all the way up to 10 grand. Um and I got connected with them.
They let me do a $5,000 one which is beyond sick. And I got the watch in right when the laptop got destroyed. So here is the watch. I don't think I've shown this on Instagram yet. So, this is a an early look for you. Um, it's a Glass Shut, which is a German brand, which is pretty cool. Uh, which >> my wife's family has some German heritage in there, which is like super cool. Um, box papers, it's from 2023.
>> Um, and it's a like the perfect dress watch. I was like, this is like the best.
>> Like, there was tutors, there was Grand Seikos, there was other stuff, but I was like, this is perfect because I really like the idea. Honestly, I'm not like a gambling man or anything like that, but I like it because as somebody that's new into watches, I'm like, I don't really know what I want to get next. Like, there's so many different options. It would be fun to get something and wear it for a certain amount of time and then maybe move on and sell it or whatever.
Um, >> yeah.
>> And just kind of get something thrown at you. And this is never something I don't think I would have ever bought. Maybe if I had like 300 watches, I would have bought something like this. But yeah, >> um, >> diving into the history of the brand, it's a small town in Germany. They were founded in like 1894. Like everything's handmade in this small town. Like the whole town's infrastructure and economy is run by this watch brand. And um the piece that I got is beautiful. It's a big piece. It's a date. It's got a beautiful dial. It's a dress watch.
>> There you go. It's a gorgeous, gorgeous green dial. Like the green dial has some insane details on it. the date function, the Arabian numerals on the outside, a black leather strap. Um, so >> yeah, pretty cool. Uh, here's the box.
It even came with a little magnifying glass to look at it and stuff. So, um, I'm pretty pumped about it. I got some more stuff coming out on this one, but that was like the really cool pickup over the last >> week. Um, >> that's dude, the video you did was so cool. It had me nervous. I was like, "Oh, god." Well, I mean, it's like I've done a lot of the mystery unboxes and that was one of them that I was like >> that was genuine. Like that was one shot recording like sit down. Here's the code. They opened it up early for me like for 10 minutes. Like this is it. Do your thing. Like and I did it and I opened it. Like I could have got a dud.
I could have got something sick. Like I got something that was basically valued at like 5,500. So it's basically what I got. Maybe a little extra. Um, and they I don't know if I'm supposed to say this, but they have a thing where it's like you're not supposed to get the grails because if you do a promotional video and I like pull the grail, which is like a Rolex Daytona and whatever, it's like and then I post the video and it's like, oh, these influencers are getting the grails. I'm like, that's awesome that you have that in there because it shows like you don't want to just get the crazy promotions. Like you guys are genuine and you want the people that are actually buying it and they're the customers of the product getting the good stuff. So, this was like one take.
If I got a dud, I got a dud. Like, it was whatever. I'm going to wear it. I'm going to do wear test on it. Like a whole bunch of different things. So, um super easy to work with. They were incredible. Like one of the easier companies to work with, which just kind of shows how wellrun they are. Um, yeah, and the box, everything, the buyers that they have are pretty incredible for the watches. So, >> um, yeah, pretty pumped about that one.
That was a cool one. I've never done anything like that. So, I was pretty excited about it. And I got a lot of good feedback on it, too. The It's interesting cuz like you get some of these blind companies like blind boxes or like random polls or whatever. And a lot of the feedback is kind of negative.
And it's like, oh, this is just like another gambling site or whatever the case. And like all all the feedback that I got on it was like >> this is a watch brand that if you know you know like it's not just like Rolexes and like Omegas like they actually have genuine buyers that are buying good product and stuff like that. So I don't know. I I don't know if I'll do more of them. I don't know if they're going to do more of them. But the experience is pretty cool. I got a cool watch out of it. So I'm pretty pumped about it. So >> that's what I'm saying. It was one of those like I didn't know what to expect, >> but then I saw the watch and I was like, "Oh, this is something I >> completely new, too."
>> Yeah, it's sick.
>> Exactly.
>> Solid stuff.
>> Exactly. And like the 250 box, I think, sold out pretty quick. Um, and that had some really cool pieces in there as well. So, yeah, all in all, pretty pretty cool. So, I hope they dive more into watches. But, um, I also have Yeah.
And then I got the MacBook. And then I got two sneaker pickups that are both arrived today. Um, and there might have been some over the last week, but I don't uh I can't remember what they were, >> right?
That makes sense.
>> First of all, this is uh your guys. I don't know if you have this box yet, but uh >> Oh, I do.
>> The uh Soul Play Crew. Baboom.
>> Yeah, >> Soul Play Crew is dropping a Predator with Adidas. Um, and the colorway is definitely unique. I'll say that. It's like a chameleon blue and green outsole is definitely interesting. It's got removable tongues that you can swap in different styles. I mean, they included a ton of styles. So, >> um, ton of laces. Like >> overall pretty cool. I know the World Cup's kind of here, if not coming already. Like it it's kind of the season of the World Cup, so we're seeing a lot of soccer stuff. Um, so that one's pretty cool.
>> Yeah, I'm hyped on these. They showed up today for me as well. I'm like, "Bro, these are just cool." I don't know what these are, but it came with this too.
>> Hang tag. Oh, come on.
>> Cards like for soccer, right?
>> I don't watch soccer. I've never I've watched like two games in my life.
>> Fair enough.
>> But that makes sense.
>> That definitely makes recording. Wouldn't know.
>> Fair enough. Um, and then I got one other one.
new Adidas model.
I don't know if you've seen these at all. The Trax. I've uh >> Those are supposed to arrive today for me, too.
>> The uh the Waker 3 Ultra G. I >> But Boom.
>> Look how sick these are.
>> Yeah, >> those are actually really rad.
>> This is literally perfect timing for the road trip where we're going to do a lot of hiking. Um, it's got like a sock >> booty that goes all the way up your ankles for some extra ankle support.
Looks like you get some boost on the midsole, which is super nice. Um, >> definitely like a I don't want to say it, but I got to say it. It's definitely giving me ACG vibes just with the orange and the type of material that they're using. Um, but it is a Goretex upper, which is super nice. So, yeah, these are definitely going to be in the road trip rotation as well.
>> Easy. They have to be. Those I'm excited for though.
>> It's uh every company has their different lines and stuff like that of like, hey, this is our outdoor line, our EQT and whatever. So, um >> yeah.
>> Yeah, pretty cool there. So, >> makes sense. Uh for me, got the Soul Play ones in today. Speaking of Soul Play, I don't think I showed these, but they sent these over, I guess, a week or two ago, uh to help just promote the release. We got the Toro 4s. I like these more than I thought I would. Um, dude, I'm Some dude made a comment on my uh I think it was the band Jordan one video where I was just going over the things I disliked and he was like, "Bro likes the Toro4s but hates the bread lows." Like, you're completely invalid.
All your opinions.
>> Well, when you start putting out negative opinions out there, Seth, you're gonna get some people that aren't paying attention.
>> It's so funny. I was like, I don't even I'm not going to wear the Toro for it, but I like it. I think it's a good shoe.
Uh, a lot of people were saying they didn't like the shade of red they used.
I think the shade looks great because it feels like more of a vintage like Jordan 4. It has this kind of like aged, dusty look to it. And I think these are really cool. It's a shoe I never would have bought myself, but you know, someone wants to send it over to promote it.
>> I think it's cool. I think it's a good one.
>> There you go.
>> Um, moving on. This was funny. We talked about these shoes, I think, on the last episode we did of the pod, but it's the Thrasher Adidas >> Glenburn, which is actually a new silhouette this year. They've only done a few colorways, but it's they're just new, budget friendly skate shoe. I think they're like 85 bucks, which is pretty sick. You can see the cushion through there. Quality materials. They actually sent over like a ton of the apparel as well. As someone who grew up reading Thrasher, these I was pretty excited about.
>> Yeah, man. It' be a good one to skate and it definitely, you know, has that World Cup theme that everyone's loving right now. Um, good shoe.
>> Last one.
>> These just showed up randomly. the uh Adidas AttiZero EVO SL XO.
Mouthful of the name, but >> interesting.
>> This one, they kind of just reworked the upper. Uh they took the mesh away and now you have this sort of like >> textile nylon material on the base, which is probably the only thing I dislike about it because they're not as breathable as the others. But damn, I think these look so much better than the original. I love this sort of aged midsole.
the kind of like TPU overlays, >> gusseted tongue, keep your foot in place.
>> It's a cool one, man. I'm excited. I haven't run in these yet, but I have wore them like to the gym and out and about.
>> Comfy. They're just comfy, man. I love the Evo.
>> I know you really like that model, too.
So, >> I know it's a good one. I was I didn't know who to thank for it cuz they just kind of showed up the other day when I was I think literally watching a video about them the night before and they just showed up and I was like, "Oh yes, yes, we made it." Random Adidas shoes showing up in the ether just appearing at the door. It's not too bad. But I think I was trying to go through all like the shoes I have around me because I was like I don't want to miss anything I got. It's always hard when we miss a week because I'm like, "Oh crap, what actually what?"
>> Yeah. Stuff's moving so quick that it's hard to go.
>> It does >> remember. It does, dude. I also got Well, cuz I know I'm getting that TK shoe you got because I asked them for some apparel and they sent some apparel.
So, they sent me like a pair of pants and a t-shirt, but I haven't got the shoes yet. So, I don't know if it's just >> up at the mailbox delayed. I don't know.
So, this morning, so I like it. I might have an eye out.
>> That's it. That's it on pickups. Let's go over >> dive into some news. It's definitely going to be a little bit of a longer episode, but that's okay.
>> Yes. Yeah. So, this was uh we'll start off with Marcus Jordan. Um he's closing Trophy Room. Um I can't say this is on my bingo card for 2026, but I'm not surprised by it, I guess. Um, but he did it in an interesting way because he revealed a unreleased Jordan 6 project >> um that will never get released unfortunately. So, just how it be. But 10 years in business. Uh, founded in 2016.
Um, everyone knows it from the backdoor situation with the Jordan 1's back in COVID. um effective today, June 1st, I'm stepping back and retaining Trophy Room Trademark um IP and goes through a transition period from a brick-andmortar experience to ex exclusively online as a different brand.
So, yeah, pretty interesting. I I don't know. I feel like he's kind of sullied his name in the sneaker space because it's like at the end of the day it's like cool it's Michael Jordan's kid but also >> he's been caught up in so many uh I don't want to say like scandals but >> things of that nature where >> Yep.
>> Yeah. Alleged, that's a good word.
Alleged scandals where it's like, okay, man, for real. Like, I feel like you're supposed to be this influential dude. Like, you're the son of Michael Jordan. Like, inspire people. Set a good example. Instead, you're >> Believe it or not, not everyone can do that.
>> I mean, it's just one of those things where some people just can't live up to it. Uh, it's just part of it.
>> I mean, objectively, this is a pretty cool Jordan model. Like I think it's a clean. There was two different colors.
There's a blue and there's a purple. Um the purple have yellow laces. The blue has white. But the classic uh infrared six midsole. But yeah, I mean it's just uh one of those things. I Yeah, the back door thing like you just can't recover from that one. I mean that was like >> especially if it keeps happening.
If it's one time, it's like >> I don't even know if it kept happening or not, but it doesn't like it doesn't even matter in my book because it was such a big story.
>> Ben Kicks, man, he ruined Trophy Room.
That one photo he had of uh all the Trophy Room Jordan ones. I feel like I need to pull it up just to uh >> commemorate the closing of uh Trophy Room.
>> See if you can find it. It's definitely on the internet.
>> Oh, it is. It is.
>> Ben kicks. up. There it is. There's the uh the death of Trophy Room.
Maybe that's the title of this episode.
The death of Trophy Room with this photo right here and our heads on the side of the thumbnail.
>> Because it's like Yeah. I mean, it's just it's one of those things.
>> Sucks. What uh looking back on it, what do you think was the best trophy room Jordan release?
>> The ones. the ones. That's That's why it was uh Jordan Models. Let me look. Let me look. Uh the lows. No, the Yeah, I definitely the sixes were or the sevens were not the fives. I really like the original fives. The blue ones. Um Oh, yeah.
>> I think the ones I thought looked really good.
>> I like the sevens, too. I just never ended up getting a pair. Um >> yeah, >> the ones I think the ones are the best.
an infamous blue lace controversy. Do they have blue laces? Are their friends and family or do they not? So, I don't know. Big L. Big big big L.
>> I agree with that. Definitely the >> curious to see what happens.
>> We'll see. Or what they change their name to. What's the new I don't know.
>> Back door baby. Maybe that's it. Just Back Door Baby. Um, continuing on the same line of Jordan Brand just little bit on the decline over the last week and a half, they are significantly decreasing the Jordan one high releases in 2027. Um, >> god dude.
>> According to Z and Mr. R Mr. Unloved Ones, uh, the brand is expected to significantly reduce the output beginning in spring of 2027. This is a notable shift for the silhouette that has been one of the books company's most utilized products over the last decade.
Um, they're going to be more selective and greater attention towards other retro models. Um, as well as new footwear initiatives. Let's highlight that because that is what Jordan brand needs. New footwear initiatives.
>> Seriously, >> the kids aren't rocking Jordan fours or Jordan sixes or sevens or eights or nines. Like, it's just not. and spending $200 for a Jordan 1 High85. Like, it's just not >> it's not what it is. Like, you could pay 130 bucks and get a pair of piggy runners or a pair of GTS10s or >> I mean, it's just the state of what it is. Do I think that Jordans will have a resurgence like they always do? Yes. I think it's completely cyclical, but it could be 5 to 10 to 15 more years of that. Like the nostalgia factor will hit. They'll come back. It'll be really cool. They'll have another five-year bump. Just what it is. But >> Jordan one finally finally getting decreased. I I feel like it's been decreased over the last year and a half honestly like just with the output. So I'm curious to see before it falls off.
>> For sure. I think they need to focus on the 85.
Just do like one or two of those drops a year. do some regular like OG highs here and there, but nothing too crazy. But to piggyback off what you said earlier, like the price keeps going up, quality keeps going down. People want comfortable shoes and people it's just so oversaturated.
>> Like >> they gota they got to just stumble steady releases a little bit because it's getting a little outrageous. But >> I'm excited for this. I'm excited for it.
>> Yep. I am too. Um, another massive story, uh, Steph Curry find signed a 10-year deal with Lee Ning, Chinese footwear brand. Um, if I'm not mistaken, Lee Ning is kind of a conglomerant of, uh, multiple different brands over in China. Uh, uh, ultimately moving to China for six months, Sneaker Moose has maintained, uh, Leang Ant representing Curry for the next decade. Um, >> yeah.
>> But yeah, he officially parted ways with Under Armour.
>> That to me, I mean, I'm kind of happy he parted ways with Under Armour, you know what I mean? But he's been gone for a little bit. It's been kind of fun seeing him through his uh sneaker-free agency run where he got to just wear whatever he wanted on and off the court. It was cool. He was showing everybody that I do have swag. Like I I also have hype cool shoes, but You know, >> I think Leaning's a good fit for him because I'm from what I've heard and seen in the past, like they make some of the best basketball shoes as far as like performance goes, quality, price point.
It's cool. And I'm sure they're going to give them a lot of creative freedom as well.
>> And just what they're doing with all these% good. I mean a big part of it too is like Klay Thompson has been with Ant for a long time. Dwayne Wade went to Wave of Wade made his own company. Um Jimmy Butler, CJ McCollum, D'Angelo Russell, Fred Van Fleet. I mean even you look at like Jokic is like with 361 sports like >> these brands overseas are making moves in the footwear space especially the basketball space because they're so specialized in it and the pro I like that was one of the biggest videos I ever had was ways. It was lacing up a pair of way weights on Tik Tok. Oh yeah.
40 million views. Did 20 million on t on Instagram. It did 20 20 million on Facebook.
>> Um and that was like five years ago. And they were very futuristic and they were a cheap product, but they had really cool tech. And that was like their Trojan horse to get people to look at the brand. And then they started dropping really good performance footwear. And it's global like it is.
It's all over the place. Basketball in China is absolutely huge. We It's funny cuz we posted a video about one of our bigger videos on Instagram about um the ST charges, the hoop shoes, and I said that like basketball in China is like a lot of outdoor basketball and it's huge over there. Everyone's like, "What do you mean basketball in China?" I'm like, "Bro, have you like been on the internet like China?" Like I've seen so many reels of like this one dude that's out hooping in the rain like on the outdoor courts that are all sport courts and they have like 30 of them on the top of a building and it's like we don't have that in the US. like we don't like we have the park and people play and like YMCA and stuff but like basketball is so big and to see a guy like Steph Curry Stephen Curry like the legend like arguably the best point guard of all time go to a Chinese brand like that's a big shift and Under Armour is bleeding big time like bleeding bleeding bleeding I don't know what they're going to do I would not be surprised if they get sold like I don't know I don't know what they do but I mean the other question too is like how much are they what is Steph Curry going to actually do with the brand? Like he is 38 years old. Like he's probably going to retire in the next two, three years if I had to guess.
Like I don't know. I know he's got a lot of initiatives he wants to do, but >> 10 year deal when he's like on the end of his career. I don't know.
>> What's like a 10-year deal for him even look like at that point?
>> Looks like $400 million, baby.
>> It's like what? I don't I >> I don't know. It's got to be namesake.
It's got to be namesake mainly and then they can put his name on a shoe and make his silhouette and sell a >> retires. He can have his name kind of like go >> go do tours in China and sell them and yeah, I think it'll be one of those deals.
>> Makes sense to me.
Not bad.
>> 400 do it.
>> I mean, half a bill to sign a 10-year deal at the end of your career. I mean, >> I'd sign a deal to Hey Dudes for 400 mil.
Uh, yeah, I'd probably do that. I'd probably do that.
>> I'd be a celebrity in Minnesota with how much people wear Hey Dudes here.
>> You can only wear Hey, dudes. We'll give you 400 mil next 10 years. I'd be like, >> that's going to hurt, but okay.
>> What could I I would like spend probably 50 million of that completely redesigning all the footwear at Hey Dudes.
>> Yeah.
>> So then I can enjoy the other 350.
>> Yeah, good point. Um, all right, moving on. Um, we got a few. I think this might be only one that you put in here, but um, the, uh, whatchamacallit, what's the name of this model? Okay, they're in here.
>> Oh god, >> the cryoshot. Cryoshot. Crowshot TMO 94.
Um, sneaker news. I know this because I covered them this week and there was a lot of them dropping. Um, we got the Crowshot soccer cleat turned into a street shoe with those resined outs soles that look really cool. And we've seen multiple collabs on them. Right here, we're looking at the Nocta collab.
We have a Palace collab. We have uh is this the I don't know if that's the Off-White one or not.
>> Jacimus.
>> Jacamus collab. The Shawn collab. Schlon collab. We have >> a couple other ones. Off-white pota. Um, regardless, we have a bunch of cryos shots. I think the Noctas are pretty damn cool. I like the look of that all yellow. Um, the off-whites are the off-whites are cool. It's It's off-white. Like, >> I don't know. It's cool. Um, >> when I was talking to Harrison on his pod, he mentioned when you look at the Off-Whites, it says air on the side. So, it's like, does this shoe have air? Like how because you would assume >> I don't know >> that it would have air.
>> I don't know.
>> But that's a good question.
>> Like when you look at this one, you can kind of see underneath where it says air. Like the clear portion kind of looks like it has some lines or something etched into it. So we were like, wonder if there's air in the heel like in between the spikes. That would be >> an interesting way to >> incorporate a little more comfort into this because I don't know how these are going to feel. I really just want to get my hands on a pair. I I'm looking right now at drops. Um we have the When are they dropping? When are they dropping? They're dropping on Tuesday, June 16th. Um all of them are dropping on the app. They're dropping at random times. So, they're they're doing like a weird release drop for these. So, the South Korea are 12:00 p.m. then 1 p.m. 2 p.m. 3 p.m. 400 p.m. 5:00 p.m. 6 p.m.
with Nocta and Off-White at the 5 and 6 p.m. spot. So, um pretty interesting there on how they're dropping in.
>> Cool.
>> Yeah, not too bad. So, >> are you going to go for any of these?
>> Yes, I just hit notify me on the Noctas and the Off-Whites. I would I would only want to get the ones that I'm going to wear wear and I think that those two jock moose are clean too. But um >> they just look so similar to the off-white where I'm like >> okay like sorry.
>> Yeah. So yeah, pretty cool there. um Nike SB >> and all of the partners, I can't remember how they phrased it, but like each of the collaborator has, you know, affiliation, whether this is where they're from or like where their brand is based, but like Nocta's for Canada, Virgil's for the States, >> Salon for Nigeria, and it's kind of like >> that sort of playbook for it. And I really like that. And I really wish Nike and other brands would do this moving forward. Like when you're introducing a new quote unquote new silhouette like the Cryoshot, it'd be so cool if they tapped in with five, seven, 10 different big collaborators that they work with and it's like here's this new model, give us your take on it and it's going to be a part of the like launch collection or something along those lines. That way >> it gets people talking. It gets people's, you know, figuratively feet in the door to try a new silhouette and then they launch with a ton of different like GR or twists on the model. Like I think that would be so cool moving forward and a fun >> sort of like playbook to see in the future.
>> Good point. But >> I love what they did with this. Very cool.
>> Yeah, not too bad.
Um, Nike SB enters the World Cup in search of Lami Lamasina.
Um, we have a clothing collection as well as some SBS. Uh, we have some Air Max 95s in the SB Tennis Classic in an all pink.
>> I don't like either of these.
I think the apparel >> Not for me.
>> Yeah.
>> Yeah. Not bad. We have some uh jersey style uh clothing to match the shoes. Yeah, not too bad. This one not like >> super interesting. Dropping in July, so during the World Cup.
>> I'm starting to get jersey fatigue, man.
I love a good jersey. There's been a lot of jerseys.
>> Oh my god, does every brand need to drop 50 different jerseys? like >> and as somebody that likes to have jerseys but never wears them. Um >> Oh yeah.
>> Yeah. It's I I agree with that. I agree.
>> And they're all expensive. It's like I'm not going to >> just go drop all of my money on these jerseys that I'm probably never going to wear again. I don't know. I mean like I got the Thrasher Adidas one and that one I'm kind of excited about because I'll just go out and skate in that one. But it's like >> Yep.
>> All the others I don't know. There are some cool ones. A lot of the Nike ones they've been doing are pretty sick. Um, but >> it's a lot, dude.
>> It's a lot, man.
>> Um, Kevin Durant reveals a pair of St. Germaine KD6. This is pretty cool.
>> I think these look so good. I love the uh KD6 though from like a design perspective. It's probably my personal favorite KD. And these just look nuts, dude. I kind of wish they weren't mismatched. Like either go all white or all metallic, but I think these are cool. Very cool [ __ ] >> I agree with you. I agree with you.
Super clean. I would love to get a pair of these. Um >> stitching.
>> These are sweet. Some cool.
>> They They look like soccer cleat again, just with some of the stitching lines.
>> The good PSG. They did a great job.
>> Yeah, those are cool. Very cool.
>> Um Willie >> Traver. Oh yeah, >> we have another Mega Ride collection from him. Three more pairs. He's on a roll.
>> Every week >> there's another Willie Mega Ride.
>> There's been there's been a lot of >> We talked about the black one right in the middle.
>> We have Yes. the black one with the leather. We're also getting a black with a burgundy midsole. Um very similar to one of the first ones that he dropped.
I've reviewed.
>> And then we have a Yeezy inspired um Bones one that I saw and I thought it was a Yeezy honestly.
>> And I know Yeezy's been out gone for a bit, but like it just looks like a Yeezy shoe. So >> those look so good though. Oh, >> dropping June 10th. All three pairs if you're interested. Um there's some jersey collabs as well if you're interested in some uh jersey clothing.
>> It's This one's a good collection.
footwear side. I mean, it's all >> It's cool. It's cool.
>> Darker like colors, but >> y >> I think they all look pretty solid.
Dude, Willie is kill >> Adidas. That was kind of a >> unexpected one for me.
>> Just not He's definitely uh >> he's definitely on a run right now. So, >> love to see it.
>> Uh we'll fly through this one. Soul play getting their Predator less press play.
We've already kind of done that one.
>> Shout out to Soul Play.
>> Shout out Soul Play.
Uh, Brain Deadad Disney and Adidas collab for a nostalgic football collection.
>> Yeah, dude. This is a silhouette. I think it was actually this shoe. We saw it previewed months and months and months ahead of this. We had no idea that this was a Disney collab.
>> Yes.
>> Now we know it is. And it's kind of freaking sick, dude. You got that predator upper bootlike midsole.
>> It's just gnarly, dude. Even the apparel, >> all black.
>> Yeah.
>> And this same thing. It's like World Cup football inspired collection. You got all these Disney brain dead kits, jerseys, and I think they're kind of fun.
>> More jerseys.
>> More jerseys. Dude, I do like this green goofy.
>> Three in a row now with jersey uh besides Soul Play. That's three in a row stories with jerseys. It's nuts. It's too many. But I like these Disney ones a lot. I'd wear them if I was at Disney.
You know, it's a good one.
>> Breathable, but cool collection.
>> Not bad.
Uh, our guy Shake, we had him on the podcast a while back. Debuted the Form Low with the Milwaukee. Uh, it's exactly what you think it would be. It's basically his 414 day. Um, but collaborated all together into a what the pair with some different panels, different outsoles, different tongues, different laces. Pretty cool.
>> Shout out Shake, man. He did a >> I like these.
>> Did a good job. It's crazy. It's definitely a what their pair. What the pair for sure.
>> It is cool. I like it. It's definitely out there.
>> More like this. Uh Ronnie Fog New Balance reference an early 2000's model. Um this is the what is what model is this? The New Balance 2011 depicting two sample colorways. Uh an upper from the New Balance 2000s as well as paired with the 2002. Um and a hybrid of the 1890.
>> Interesting.
>> New Balance loves a hybrid, dude. I just think those look cool. Definitely Kithco coded with the colorway. Uh I want to see more.
>> Yeah, >> I want to see more of that.
>> It Did you see the uh complex Ronnie Fi post that they did talking about street wear?
>> Uh I don't think so. I'm going have to >> I saw a post talking about it, but I I saw it was uh a while back, maybe like a week ago. um talking about they complex interviewed like Ronnie Flag talking about like the state of streetear and like what it's missing and it was pretty funny because this video was a guy reacting to the story and they're like who like who's the bum at complex that was interviewing Ronnie for this talking about the state of streetear and like basically what he was saying in it was Ronnie was like yeah like streetear is just kind of missing like the point the storytelling like all that stuff and and then the kid like pulled up some of the recent Kith collections with like Kith Disney and it was like the dumbest graphics and then Kith like and they've collaborated with a lot of brands and stuff recently and stuff and which yeah if Disney comes to you and doing a collection like obviously you're going to do that but um >> I don't know it got me thinking because it's like yeah like I like Kith I'm a huge fan of like what Ronnie does there's just a lot of output and it's hard to like get connected to something when it's like like the Kiss Solomons I really love those and I was just talking about those are one of my favorite shoes this year. They dropped like a month ago and we've probably seen two dozen things drop since then.
>> Um >> it's hard to keep up. It's hard to keep up especially when you're not in a market where you're buying everything.
Like it's just I don't know. So it's it's hard to hit on that storytelling.
That's where like Phil is like yes we're always loving Phil's stuff but like it's once every six months whatever well thought out, well executed and then hit on. And I know you got to tune that up eventually and like tune the the dial, but I don't know. It got me thinking about like the output of some of these brands and like how sustainable it is.
>> It is kind of cra and I was talking to someone about this the other day, but it's like even with social media and like posting about shoes, it's like the second you post about it or the second it drops, it's like already out of date.
Like for most of this stuff, it's like cool. Yeah, that came out yesterday.
We're not focused on that. We're focused on what's coming out tomorrow or what's coming out next week.
>> And it's just like the second something drops, people just forget about it. And it's kind of annoying.
>> There's no more >> I don't even know what the word would be, but it's like like you get a little bit of FOMO, but after a day you miss the drop, you're like on to the next thing. Yeah, whatever. I'll get the next one. I don't know. Yeah, >> I don't know.
>> I agree.
>> Not as exciting.
>> Let's continue going through the rest of these stories of shoes that we will probably not talk about in two weeks.
>> Exactly. Well, >> yeah, you're right. These probably not, but uh the uh AS6 Gelite 3s coming back in a remastered form.
>> Yeah, >> we might have talked about like two weeks ago, I think. So, >> I don't think these got like a dude.
That makes sense. they were u paying homage to the uh original designer of the Gelite 3 if I'm not mistaken because he just retired.
>> Okay. Um, I don't know if he designed this colorway or not, but it is on the >> new OG quote unquote Gelite 3 silhouette that Kith and Ronnie Fog have been working on a lot recently, but we just haven't seen any inline releases of that silhouette, which I don't know why.
Like, that doesn't make any sense to me.
But these were cool. They sold out instantly. I was going to try and get a pair, but yeah, they were they were gone. And it was uh it was kind of interesting to see a lot of people talk about it because I know for me and a lot of other people like the Gelite 3 was the shoe that got you into sneakers that weren't Jordans or weren't like the brand you typically ran to like Nike, Adidas, whatever it may be. Like when the Gelite 3 was hitting in its prime, >> that was like the shoe. And I know it was my first sneaker, quote unquote, that I went out and I think I bought myself when I was in like college and I was so gassed on that model. And it's cool to see. This is one I wish I would have picked up. Maybe I'll backtrack and try and get it eventually, but it's cool. I like it.
Uh, Lil, I haven't heard that name in a minute. Vans collection 2027. Why Why are we looking at 2027 stuff? What are we doing?
>> That's a great question. slated for 2020. Let's skip this. I'm skipping it.
We'll look at it next year.
>> Also, their buns.
>> Uh, we'll talk about an actually cool Vans collection, the pack. Um, >> yeah, >> sent me this or something. Maybe we chatted about this. We had early images of them, but now we have full looks.
>> That's what it was.
>> We had early images of the black pair and maybe another colorway if I'm not mistaken. They were just kind of like potato, >> red, blue, black.
The photos we saw were like below, but these are the actual Vans photos. I think these are cool. The uh the little furry hairs on the side are a little too aggressive for me. If it was dialed back a little bit, I think it'd be a little more wearable, but I think these just look so good, dude. I love >> I agree >> this silhouette from Vans. This is all I wore in high school. Classic, man.
Classic >> all day, man.
Good one.
>> Yeah. Not for me. Not for me. But they're they're interesting. It's fun.
It's pushing the boundaries.
>> Very punk rock.
>> Um, your guys dropping an 1890 with New Balance.
>> Yeah, this is one we saw a lot of a lot of previews for over the past few months. We finally got the official images for them.
>> Finally got a first like detailed look at the gray, white, and yellow pair. I think it's good. I can't really decide which I like more because I love the look of the all black with the white tongue and cream midsole too.
>> Definitely more premium John looking as the black pair. The white pair is the little Walmart vibes.
>> It is. Oh, definitely a little more of a inline dad shoe look. But yeah, I haven't tried any of the 1890s yet from New Balance. Maybe one of these will be my first. I'm kind of >> These are cool. waiting to see. I didn't get early access for this one, which I was kind of bummed about. I signed into Jed to see if I got it and I just looked through my purchase history and I was like, "Oh my god, I have a Jed problem."
But, uh, this is probably going to be the next one I get from them if I can secure it.
>> Fair enough.
>> Cool.
>> Yeah, it's not bad. I I've been wanting to get a pair of the 1890s, but I don't think that that's going to be uh I don't think that that's going to be the one.
>> Fair.
>> I don't know.
Um, okay. This is the first interesting thing I've seen, not going to lie. Uh, basket case celebrates soccer's alternative on the New Bounce Gator Run.
Um, yeah, I say interesting because we have an interesting visual here.
>> Very cool. Very cool. Very cool. Um, some fun photos, some fun photography.
Let's see the shoes. Boom. Not bad.
>> They look good. So, this is the same silhouette. I think we talked about it on the last episode that ALD is doing where it's the black outsole, gray, all gray upper. This is the same new silhouette that they're bringing around for New Balance.
>> I think they did a great job with these.
Like it's a little bit more of a colorful collaboration. The one we're looking at here is like gum outsole, green suede, yellow base. The other is like maroon and blue. I think basically uh I just think these are fun. It's a cool one. I don't know if I would I don't I don't know if these are the ones I would go for if or if I would go for the ALDs over these, but I think they both did a good job. It's a cool silhouette.
>> Yeah, I like the green and yellow.
Honestly, both of them cool laces, cool details. You get some pins and stuff.
>> Nice thin sock liner.
>> Yeah, I like these. Cool visuals. Well done on those. Dropping two days >> Friday.
Got to keep my eye out.
>> There you go. Um, all right. Wrapping up unnamed segment. What do you got for this week?
>> Uh, dude, so we've had a lot of music dropping, but I didn't really want to talk about music today. Um, Destiny 2. I don't know if you're familiar familiar with the game. There's been so much drama around this. buddy that played it a lot in uh middle school or high school, but um >> Oh, yeah, dude.
>> I'm familiar. Not I've never played it myself, but >> this was like my goto game from like 20 what 14 to like 2020 probably. It's the game I played the longest, but they were bought and sold multiple times through Bungie. Now they're owned by Sony and Sony has officially killed the game altogether. They're not supporting Destiny 2 anymore. There's no plans for a Destiny 3. Not continuing the franchise at all. And that to me just like Oh, it's that knife in the heart.
>> That was a big one, too. That was a big one.
>> It was like the next Halo, you know? It was the next like space shooter that you could play with your friends, and there was just nothing really like it. And even though I haven't played this game probably since like 2020, it was just one of those things that's like, damn, this was like the first video game I got like heavily into with my friends. And ever since Bungie made Marathon, which was their like Arc Raiders dupe, if you're familiar, >> they have just put all their baskets into all their eggs into the basket for Marathon and just canned Destiny 2. And the entire community was like outraged, freaking out. They did the PlayStation State of Play showcase a few weeks back and every single comment was just like, "Give us Destiny 2. that's all we want.
Like this is the game we want or Destiny 3, I should say. So, um, pretty much anyone that's in the community or up to date with the game did kind of a a rally yesterday because they released the very last update for Destiny 2.
>> So, everyone who's ever played it was kind of just like trying to get on and show Bungie, show Sony that there's still people interested in this game.
They also got together like a uh what would you even call it? Like a signature thing where people could sign saying you want Destiny the name of it.
>> I know I'm blanking on the word but uh there's like almost 400,000 signatures.
There were like 170 200,000 people playing on Steam yesterday, not to mention like Xbox and PlayStation. And so it was like it was really cool to see the community come together and try and like show this big corporation that like hey we still want this and dude if a Destiny 3 comes out I mean it's going to be another 6 eight years I'm sure for development but that would be something I would be excited for. So I just thought that was really cool seeing a giant older community come together and try and show them that this is what we want. But >> interesting. Very cool. Very cool. Sad to see. Breaks my heart, but that was a great game for me, especially doing all the raids and stuff, like events you could only play with six people. So, we had all of our friends together, and that is what we would do on the weekend.
So, I hopped on yesterday for the first time in years, talked to uh a lot of people that I haven't talked to since then that still play the game and it was like just so cool catching up with everyone. We haven't really stayed in touch that much, but it was awesome.
Definitely wave of nostalgia over the past week, but that's my topic. That's >> a good one.
>> It's funny because mine is uh also gaming related. Um Okay. Xbox had one of their yearly deals and the new CEO is an absolute G.
>> Um, they announced that they're doing a translucent Xbox Series X uh to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Xbox.
Um, and my Xbox is like borderline broken. So, I will be trying to get one of these in November when they drop. So, but the cool part why she's like complete G is like she's a complete gamer and like she's doing everything like Lord Game Pass price and everything. But um everyone that was in attendance to the show got a free free Xbox as well. One of these. So pretty cool.
>> I was so jealous. I want this so bad. Do you have a You have an X, right? Series X.
>> I got an X. Yep. I bought it used for like 200 bucks like three years ago and the HDMI port is bent and I'm shocked it's still working honestly. So >> dang. I still have that original Series S that came out >> and it's it's working perfectly fine.
But like there's times where I'm like, "Okay, I need a little more juice." And at the moment, I can only hold two games on it because these games are freaking massive.
>> Yeah, they're getting big. That's for sure.
>> Like, that's outrageous. So, I'm very, very, very excited to hopefully have a chance to get that green Xbox because it looks sick and it's a cool display piece. Like I love that the design language is finally going back to that like translucent era. I just think it's >> who doesn't like it?
>> It's fire, dude. So we'll see. Hopefully we can both secure one of those. Sure.
It's going to be a difficult one for sure.
>> Yeah, pretty cool. So, uh, all right.
Thanks everyone for listening. Um, tap in with the socials, tap in with the Discord, and we'll be back next week.
Thank you everybody. We'll catch you then.
