Dairy goats exhibit distinct behavioral patterns influenced by environmental conditions and seasonal changes; for example, goats become more ornery during heavy heat cycles as rut season approaches, and their milk production remains consistent despite temperature fluctuations, demonstrating how animals adapt to changing environmental conditions while maintaining productivity.

I'm Seriously Considering It!
Added:Good morning ladies.
You ready to get on the stand?
How come you girls are so crazy?
I kind of know why.
Not you though Humility.
My goodness. Mayo, this is the first time in days you haven't been first.
She has been trying to fight everybody.
All right. Hello goat lovers, Crystal here with Blue Cactus Dairy Goats and Soaps and welcome back to another morning chore.
Morning Marsha. You are never first.
I thought you were mean.
Oh, good morning Daisy.
Let's go.
All right.
Good morning everybody.
It is a gorgeous, stifling, humid day today.
And we've gotten some rain so the flies are here.
Come here Petrie.
Good girl.
I love your high udder.
Take it easy, Daisy.
I know, Daisy.
We get that.
Good girl.
Come on, girl.
What are you doing, Anna Banana? You're a working girl, huh?
There's been a lot of comments about Anna and her barking as the girls go up and down the stand. And so, I thought I would just share the story as to where that began. Now, I know some of you don't like the barking and some people think it's adorable. Um I personally it's really high-pitched bark. I wish she would bark a little bit quieter, but she doesn't and that is her voice and that's her bark. Um but I don't ever mess with her because she does it for a reason. She honestly, truly thinks she's helping. All right, we got to move on down, girls.
All right, Mayo. Can I get you?
Good girl.
Thank you.
Ma'am.
There we go.
So, anyway, uh a couple years back, I was left to man everything while me and Anna, of course, were left to man the fort while Derek and the kids went on a little trip. And one morning, the girls would not come up on the stand, and Anna never barked ever. Um, not for the girls coming on the stand anyway, but anyway, one morning they were giving me so much trouble, and they would not listen. I couldn't get them to come out of the parlor and get on the stand. They were just too busy fighting and bickering with each other, and so Anna started barking.
And as soon as she started barking, it really got them moving. So, they were trying to get away from the bark, they came up on the stand for me, and it helped. She literally got them up on the stand for me that morning, and she has not quit barking ever since.
So, there's the story, you guys. How could I tell her to stop barking? I literally cannot leave her in the house during chores. It's what she lives for.
She literally thinks she is the biggest help. Now, obviously, that was kind of a one-off kind of a day for them, um, and they get up on the stand, and they'll do it without Anna barking, but she does not think so. So, that is the story with Anna and why she barks when the goats get up on the stand.
Such a good girl.
Learning well, then.
Little angel.
Thank you.
So, I have some good news. Um, I have been waiting on ADGA to do the transfers from all of the goats that were sold in the spring um, that Derek has already delivered and it really took a long time. So of course I had some buyers that were texting me a lot and wondering naturally so where the heck is the papers. [music] So anyway as of this morning I do believe all of the transfers should be done.
It looks like on my end in my account [music] that the transfers are in fact done. So kudos for ADGA finally done and check your ADGA accounts you guys and watch for the registration papers to come in the mail in your name because they will be in your mailbox very soon.
So that is some good news.
And now I'm to my troublemakers. These three girls, Moby, Wren, and Mercy. They are such stinkers. So if you notice when they're coming up on the stand it's kind of their thing for a hot minute now. They want to be last. They don't want to go up first and then Wren, Moby, and Mercy they just kind of do circles around me down by the gate and they'll come up and down and headbutt each other until they finally get their slots. They are very particular about what slot they get.
Moby has to be the third to the last. Wren has to be the second to last and of course Mercy has to be the very last.
All right Wren, let's do this.
Good girl.
Good girl.
You know what's going on.
No happy feet.
So if I'm being honest Wren hasn't gotten too much better on the stand. She is still very much happy feet.
Um so I kind of just have to focus on her.
I she's She's always on one, but she's the sweetest little thing as long as she doesn't have something latched to her teeth. But anyway, um Moby is an angel, so at least there's that. She's not an angel getting up on the stand, but she always has been an angel getting milk. And uh Mercy, same thing as Wren, happy feet. So luckily they have nice orifices and they drain out very quickly, so that is a perk. I don't have to sit here and hold their legs for too long.
All right. Thank you, Wren. You survived.
Mercy, be good.
Be good.
Be good.
Mercy.
It's okay.
She's okay.
She's all right. No, no. So another thing going on with these girls is I have noticed some very heavy heat cycles.
Um and they just started getting really heavy, [music] which means they're getting really ornery with each other, and it's almost rut season, you guys.
Girls did pretty good. I'm working on it. Hold on, we'll get you down.
Well, the good news is is these girls are still making a lot of milk. Even with the temperature changes, um it's super humid, it's super hot, and we've been getting quite a bit of rain.
Actually, it's been like three times we've gotten a lot of rain. So things are starting to green up, which is very exciting, but if we don't get more rain, it's not going to actually create new growth, if you will, in all of the pastures. So, fingers crossed, we still get a lot more rain, and it's not over with, but we'll just have to wait AND SEE.
>> [screaming] >> YOU'RE A LITTLE JERK. MAN.
All done, girl. See, it wasn't that bad.
They're all so thirsty.
>> [laughter] >> What happened there, Moby?
What happened? So, yeah, anyway, like I was saying, the days are getting shorter, and these girls are starting to get into some pretty heavy heats, and it is making them pretty ornery with each other. Well, and on the stand, and everything else. So, they've been doing a little bit of fighting.
Hi, Daisy.
Daisy, not so much, but Mayo, she has been on one, huh? But, your face is just so RBF and sweet. Yeah.
It's just so sweet. I love you.
You're making it hard to film you. Yes, you are.
Look at this, you guys.
Wasteful. They don't appreciate at all.
All of this Derek had super clean, spickety-span, and you know what they do?
They take all the stems out, and they throw them on the ground. On a real note, though, breeding time is coming up right around the corner, you guys. So, I mean I don't know. I could breed in about 5 weeks if I wanted to, and I am considering it. So, it's not a definite just yet. But, uh I am considering breeding a little bit earlier, and you can tell that they know that the days are getting shorter cuz the heat cycles are getting heavier, the bucks are getting a little loud, um and they're a little interested in the ladies. They're sniffing around. They can They can They're starting to smell it in the air is the point. Um so, it It's absolutely crazy because I swear the goats were just born. But, anyway, here we are again. About time for breeding already. They good stuff, girl.
Come on, Dozie.
Mercy's been glued to me lately.
She's like She thinks we're besties.
Huh?
We are kind of. I do love you.
All right. Well, you girls have a good day.
And be very nice.
Do not be trying to hurt each other, okay?
What are you fighting, Maddie?
Are you fighting some mesquite Derek gave you?
Are you?
Look at her. You being nice today?
Kind of. Not really.
All right. Well, the word nice scared you off. Hey, you want to come and say hi?
Hi. So, in other news, we did sell a couple more bucklings, which is really cool. We have two new buyers, and they are going to Michigan, believe it or not. So, that's super exciting. Um looks like there will, in fact, be another trip to Michigan.
This year. Is that exciting? So, we're thinking probably September I would like to go, but we'll just have to see. Um but, this little dude, this is Dozie's buck. Hi, Dozie Jacko buck. and also Daisy's buck. But he's busy right now, huh, sir?
You're still available. I sure hope I don't have to take this little boy's balls, cuz he would make an awesome herd sire, huh?
This is Yes ma'am's full brother.
And he is so gorgeous like his sister.
Huh?
So it's a Mercy and Jacko baby.
What are you doing? Just eating some dirt?
What in the world, Gusher?
Gusher.
That's a lot of mud on your lips.
Guess what, you guys? So, do you remember the awesome soap that we created together? That you guys helped me out and you had so many wonderful name suggestions. Um you guys are awesome. Thank you for that, by the way.
I really, really appreciate your guys's insight, your ideas, and your help. It makes a big difference in what I decide.
Um so, you guys know that I struggle naming anything, and it's something that really takes me a while to come up with something that finally I'm like, that's it. That's it. I love it. I did come up with a perfect name for this perfect, gorgeous, beautiful bar. This is the bar, and it has been curing for 6 weeks now. So, it is absolutely ready. It is available on the Etsy shop as we speak.
So, if you are wanting some, I suggest you hurry and go get some um before they're all gone. And of course, there's a link in the description. Here's the story. You guys know that I really, really liked Morning Glory. Um so, one of my friends, she's actually a patron, and that's how we became friends, and she has the most creative, awesome mind. She's very artsy, and just things just come to her really quickly.
So, I actually do lean on her from time to time when I'm just kind of stuck. I'm like, "Hey, Jewels, what what do you got for me because I'm stuck here?" And she helps. Um and anyway, she came up with the name Morning Glory, and I absolutely loved it. So, of course, I shared the name with you guys, and I was positive I already had the name. This is it. When I smell this bar, the aroma could be called Morning Glory.
After I had let you guys know, there was a few people that um advised me that it could potentially be also a derogatory um thing. So, I decided not to go with Morning Glory. If you guys have to know, type it into Google and you'll figure it out. So, here in Arizona, we have the absolute most beautiful sunsets. And across the board, you guys definitely thought that this bar looks like a beautiful sunset. Now, some people thought that the blue looked like ocean, and some people thought it looked like mountain. I see mountains everywhere, so in my mind, it was, you know, just a mountain that shadowed. Nonetheless, everybody really just kind of went with the same theme that this is a beautiful sunset. Now, we get the most gorgeous sunsets, like I said, here in Arizona, especially around monsoon time because there's so many clouds. And so, one night, I'm just standing there and just taking in the sunset. Everything else just kind of disappears briefly, and you're just in your own little piece of heaven, if you will. And I just thought to myself, "This is pure bliss."
And right then, that was the name.
I thought, "That's the name to my bar."
So, it might have taken me 6 weeks to figure out, but we got a name. It's an awesome name.
And so, here is the bar with the label, and this bar is called Pure Bliss. And it is absolutely fitting and stunning, and I'm super happy with this bar.
Ah! So anyway, I just wanted to let you guys know that we did come up with a name and that it is ready cuz I know you guys have been waiting for it. And I'm really excited about this bar. This one is actually the brightest colors I have ever gotten. So you guys see my soaps, they are gorgeous. I do love them. They are colorful and but this is definitely the most colorful I've ever gotten with natural ingredients. I'm excited about the bar and I cannot wait to get feedback on on this particular bar just from the scent as well as from the lather and just see how you guys really like it. So if you guys like it and we get good reviews, then of course, I will be making more and we will add it to one of our regular soaps. Nonetheless, you guys have to go buy it before I can see if you like it. That is some exciting news. I feel really good to have that done. Uh a brand new bar is always something that's that's exciting for me.
And this one, you know, I got to make it and create it with you guys. Literally the first time I made it was with you guys. Um so I was happy it turned out.
But anyway, I wanted to show you something else I have been up to. Okay, so now I'm in my kitchen and I just wanted to show you guys something. So a lot of you have noticed that the other side of the kitchen was painted blue. Um and yes, so I painted my kitchen blue.
If you must know, it's actually two paints that we already had that I mixed together to get this blue. So there was a gray and like a dark blue and I was like, "Let's just try it. We got the paint." And I love it. I absolutely love it. But the coolest part is now I have things on my walls. So people send me artwork. People send me these gorgeous pieces of work and I never really had anywhere to put it that I felt like it was worthy or or it was a worthy spot.
So, anyway, I'm going to show you.
Check it out, you guys. I have all kinds of goatys up on the wall now.
>> [laughter] [gasps] >> Look at this.
So, I had a bunch of stuff up here, um, up on the top up here that was roosters and just kind of a rooster farmy theme.
And now it's kind of all goat and my fiesta dishes and so forth. Um, but I really, really love it. Like I'm, I'm, I literally spend so much time in my kitchen, you guys, and honestly, I just couldn't be happier with how it turned out. So, I did end up finding a spot for sweet Lily. Um, there she is here in my kitchen. That is a blue goat there that I actually, it's a blue Nigerian and I actually won that in a raffle at convention back in 2023. It might have even been by now, that's crazy. And then these two silly goatys, they are just little paintings that, that I actually found online. So, I purchased those and I think they're hilarious.
Very fitting.
This is what a goat looks like before they realize you're coming out to feed them and that's what they look like when they see you coming to feed. Mhm, it's crazy. And then this has been a beautiful sign that I have wanted to put up for quite some time. Um, and again, just didn't have a good spot for it. And that, right in the doorway, oh my gosh, it's perfect. I just love it. This gorgeous sign was made for us by somebody who purchased goats. And this is my Cassie, uh, stained glass piece of art. I love this one. Now, this one I wanted to hang on the wall for such a long time. I don't have a good window for it. Um, so anyway, it just kind of sat in the closet wrapped in foam because I was scared to death it would break cuz if anything happened to it, I would be just [clears throat] so devastated, right? So, this is Cassie and it is just really awesome. It has the constellation, the Cassiopeia constellation cuz technically that is her uh papered name and it is again just such a beautiful piece of work. And that stunning piece of artwork was given to me by somebody who is a subscriber and she loves the channel and she has watched it for many years. So, I've actually had that for a couple years and again, love love love it and the woman who sent it to me, her name is actually Cassie. And of course, Cassie is her favorite goat. So, she made that and put a lot of heart into it and I love it and so I'm glad it found a home. And lastly is my luck buck. Check this out, you guys. So, as I was mentioning, my friend Jules uh from Canada, she made this.
I don't know how she did it, but she did it and it is gorgeous. So, this one I've actually moved around several times, but I did find his permanent home right up here where he's smiling down at me. Is he not the cutest? I miss my luck buck.
And of course, I cannot forget my newest piece of artwork given to me by my granddaughter Iris. So, this here is what she called the gust dragon and it is sitting on my fridge and of course, I absolutely love it. I spend a lot of time in my kitchen um and so, I'm just really really happy to have it surrounded by all of the beautiful pieces of art that you guys have created for me and I just wanted to share that with you guys. That is it for today, you guys. Thank you so much for watching and we will see you all again very soon.
Bye, guys.
