We've Been Keeping A Secret!
Added:[music] [music] [music] [music] [music] >> We don't know what to say, guys.
>> I know. This It's been so long coming. We thought about this a lot, but like now that the moment's finally here, I'm just like flabbergasted.
>> Like what do we say? What do we do? Like how do we feel? If there's so many mixed emotions. As y'all can see, we've been really bad lately on the channel. Like I've struggled filming. It's just been a lot that we've been dealing with and going through with the first trimester that we just had to take a step back and I'm just like I feel so bad.
>> I mean, there's good reason for that, though. I mean, Charisma has been experiencing a very new experience >> Yeah.
>> with her body. Not only did she just have her endometriosis and endometriosis removed, but right after that, we got pregnant.
>> Yeah.
>> And now Charisma has been experiencing what her pregnancy would feel like, which we thought a lot about. I don't know, is it what you expected?
>> I think it's better than what I expected.
>> Better than what you expected?
>> Yeah, for sure. Like, I don't want to give too many details away in this video because we have so much to share and we've been filming throughout the entire first trimester. So, like, there's more detailed videos about how I'm feeling throughout the first trimester, but no, I did have like nausea and food aversions and whatnot, but compared to some of the women's stories that I read, it really wasn't that bad. Like, I really shouldn't complain, I feel like.
It's just that like I don't like feeling nauseous. It's not a comfortable feeling for me. I hate throwing up. I only like spit up when I was trying to swallow a pill. Uh, that was the only thing I did, but like >> in my sink, right?
>> Into a cold sink, you so upset about it.
>> Yeah, I don't know why, but >> It was the closest thing for some reason in my mind. But no, I didn't throw up once and it's just dealt with nausea here and there. Only when I like just didn't eat and it was just hard to eat when you have a version. So, we're filming. We filmed all of that, but it is surreal and to be in my second trimester just feels so good. I'm I'm glad we're finally here.
>> It's pretty wild to know that we're in the second trimester. The time is already flying. I feel like baby's going to be born tomorrow at this rate. As far as like mentality though, this has been quite a roller coaster cuz I mean, y'all, those of you that have been hanging out with us for a long time have known the roads we've gone down to make this happen, to be in this position.
Before we even came to Minnesota, Charisma and I had kind of just resigned ourselves to a life where maybe we wouldn't have our biological child. And like what that might look like.
>> Which we were like, okay with. I wouldn't say that that was off the table. We just didn't want adoption to be a backup option to infertility. We want adoption to be separate. If we want to adopt, we do that regardless of having our own biological children or not. And we want to foster regardless.
Like we didn't want to necessarily adopt a foster care. Like if it came to that, sure, but that was never our goal. The goal with foster care is reunification, and that's what we came into it thinking as well.
>> Yeah.
>> We didn't think this was possible, but then when I got my endometriosis surgery, everything changed. And >> It kind of shifted things, yeah. A road that we thought was closed to us reopened. And we're thinking, "Oh, shoot. Do we want to go down that road again?" And both of us were a little hesitant because, you know, of our past, our infertility. That was not easy. Not easy at all. And it's a mental uh mental battle um to go through it. And we didn't know what to expect.
Obviously, with the endo gone, it's an entirely different picture, but we didn't know exactly what that meant.
>> Yeah.
>> And we definitely didn't expect things to happen so quickly.
>> No, we didn't. Like it's yeah, it's it's a lot, and I know you guys have a lot of questions like, how did we conceive? Do we do IVF? Do we conceive naturally? Do we do IUI? How we found out? That's a big question. How we told our families.
Like there is so much to share with you guys, and I'm so excited to share this journey. And then just to share the journey being pregnant and like being a caregiver. I think that's a huge thing to talk about, being a mom and being a dad with a disability and how caregiving and is involved, how disabilities involved.
>> It's a whole new adventure.
>> Like we have a whole chapter of our lives that we're sharing in real time.
And we're new. We are new parents. We are have no expertise >> No.
>> whatsoever.
>> No. [clears throat] >> I nannyed and I've babysat, and I know kids. I've worked with kids honestly since I was 11 years old, so I know kids really well. And we both took, you know, childhood development psychology.
>> That's true.
>> Which is important.
>> So, yeah, we know little brains a bit, how they respond to things, how you can teach them.
>> Yeah, we took foster classes, which, you know, had a lot of emphasis on infants and children. But, this is still a very new experience because our child is going to be unique to any other child in this world. So, >> Our child.
>> I know.
And it was wild.
>> Crazy.
>> It's crazy.
>> When I think about it too hard, like I start crying. So, I got to be careful.
>> I've always cried a lot.
>> crying so much. Good cries.
>> Yes. It's just exciting. It's so exciting.
>> Yeah, it's exciting.
It's wild to think about.
>> Mhm.
>> And like for your dream to come true after so long is like, "Whoa."
>> I know.
>> Yeah.
>> It's an unbelievable feeling.
>> So, here's our baby.
>> [laughter] >> And we have a what's your son?
Our little baby.
>> Yes.
>> They're so big now. It's wild.
>> And the 3D ultrasounds, like they can get such clear images.
>> Mhm.
>> And it's just like that little baby is inside of Charisma right now. And let me tell you, watching a woman's body do this >> Yeah.
>> is amazing.
It is the most incredible thing I've ever beheld. I'm not even kidding when I say that. I'm not I'm not trying to be hyperbolic. Like, a woman's body is incredible.
>> Mhm.
>> It's so cool.
>> I think the same thing. Like, every day, I'm like, "Whoa. There's a baby in my belly?"
>> you're growing things to support another thing that weren't there before. Like, you're just creating organs with the child. It's like >> Mhm.
>> It's It's wild.
>> Yeah. I feel very blessed to get to experience this and have this opportunity. And the fact that pregnancy has been pretty decent. Like, I I really Like, the first trimester had I had days that were rougher than other days.
>> Lots of naps.
>> I slept.
>> Yeah.
>> And if you guys Okay, so we found out Should we say when we found out?
>> Yeah.
>> Okay, we found out on the cruise. We'll share that video with you guys. So, we went on this recent cruise. That's when we found out. And in that video, we talked about how much I nap. and I was like, I wonder if people are going to pick up and then like nap and then in this Amtrak video we just posted Cole has a clip of me napping. It's because like I had to nap after we did any and everything. It was It was a wild.
>> I've never seen Charisma nap so much.
Her body's doing some work right now.
So, it makes sense.
>> And I will say that Amtrak trip we just went on everything that we went through between Cole's wheelchair, the pressure sore, and everything that went down and went wrong, we couldn't mention how it was significantly harder with me being pregnant and in my first trimester and I'm just like >> And I hated that that was happening while she was pregnant. I just want her to be able to relax and take it easy and enjoy every moment.
>> In hindsight, we should have canceled that Brandon trip. Like cuz we had booked this trip a while ago. We didn't know I was going to be pregnant. Had no clue this was going to happen and then I got pregnant and it was just like, oh my gosh, I think we can make it happen. And before we left, I was feeling much better. So, I'm like, okay, this is good. This is good. We would have never predicted all the things that went wrong would go wrong.
>> Anyway, it's been quite an adventure already and we're just scratching the surface of what's to come. Like Charisma said, we have captured a lot of the things that we've done along the way, our first ultra sound, our gender reveal, all that stuff.
>> Yeah, we know the gender, but we're going to let our friends and family as the baby. If you want to guess, feel free to guess even the gender. It's going to be a while before we share it, but yeah. We have all that stuff on the books coming.
>> But right now, we're just focusing on making sure that Charisma is nice and healthy. Everything with the pregnancy is developing nicely and just trying to relish the moment. We've been waiting for it for a long time.
>> I know, it's Oh my god, it's so real.
Like to be filming this video is insane.
I also feel like my voice has gotten deeper as I've become You don't think it's gotten deeper? No, it doesn't feel deeper?
>> I haven't noticed that. Uh, maybe.
>> I don't know. I just feel like I'm just >> a lot of things get bigger.
>> Honestly, I'm gaining so much weight, guys. I've gained 20 lbs.
>> In all the right places. [laughter] >> And I I mean, I'm feeling healthy and I'm looking healthy, so I'm very happy about it and I'm not mad about it, but like >> I've been calling it the thickening.
>> The thickening. I'm not mad at it. I like it. I feel beautiful.
>> You are beautiful.
>> I have a little bit of a belly, but you can't really tell.
>> Like a baby.
>> Like a little bit. Look Look at that.
Actually, it's like Look at that pull.
>> That's a belly.
>> I know.
>> You got belly.
>> You can kind of Can you see it?
>> Yeah, it looks You got a little baby belly.
>> Yeah. It's small, but it's coming in strong.
>> She usually has an eight-pack, so it's interesting to see See your belly.
>> I'm just so excited. I'm so excited to share this journey.
>> She already has the mom sneeze.
>> I sneeze like this all the time.
>> So loud.
>> I've already sneezed like that before.
>> I don't know. I think you got extra Yeah. It's bless you.
>> I don't think it's that loud.
>> Did you just check your arm first time?
>> Yeah. No, I didn't I didn't It's dry.
No, I'm excited I'm so excited to share this journey with you all and to go through this experience. So cool. It's It's incredible and >> We're doing it. I know we're doing it.
>> And we have little us.
>> Little us.
>> I think it'll look like you or me or the perfect mix.
>> I'm very curious. Christmas got some strong genes.
>> The Jamesons have very strong genes.
>> So we'll see.
We'll see.
>> Baby's coming right in time for Christmas, so it's going to be our little Christmas miracle, which is like amazing.
>> Yeah.
>> We have so many exciting things happening this year in our family, in our world, and we're just We couldn't be happier >> This is just >> I'm I'm so happy. Like I didn't realize how much this not happening for us was impacting me mentally until it started happening and I'm like, "Oh my gosh, I feel so much happier."
Like I just truly wanted to be a mom, and I think some people in life know they don't want to be a parent, and some people are like, "I feel such a strong desire to be a mom, and I feel like this is what I'm meant to do." Like someone asked me, like, "What do you want to be when you grow up?" And I've always thought, "I just want to be a mom."
>> Yeah.
>> Like I'll do work and stuff and all that other stuff to get by, but like truly I just want to be a mom. That's how I always felt and like now it's happening.
>> I mean, I feel the same way on that, too. Just being like living here, we kind of slowed down when we came to Minnesota and I'm just like playing video games and just feeling like this is not enough.
>> Yeah.
>> This isn't what I want. I want more.
>> Yeah.
>> More adventure, more all of the things.
>> Everything is just so much more beautiful. Like Christmas is so much more >> Imagine Christmas this year.
>> Christmas this year is going to be so much more >> Christmas toys.
>> We're going to have a little baby on Christmas Day.
>> We're going to put a Santa hat on the baby.
>> Aw.
>> I almost said the gender.
>> I know.
>> I got to be careful.
>> You do got to be careful.
Aw.
That's so exciting.
>> I know.
>> Anyway, if you have questions, we're going to come back to Will Talk Wednesday now that I'm feeling so much better. We'll do like one question and we'll focus on that. So, you know, how do you find out you're pregnant or did you conceive naturally?
>> Yeah.
>> Did you use IVF?
>> Fears, concerns.
>> Fears, concerns, like any questions.
Like we're so happy >> And we want to open the dialogue about it because like Chris and I said, we're new at all of this.
>> Yeah.
>> So, you know, we'd love to, you know, dive into some of these topics and also hear from people >> Yes.
>> who have been down this road before us and have already paved the way and have a lot of these answers themselves and their own experience and wisdom to share. We need all of it. We got a big responsibility ahead of us. So, we want all all the tools and information we can have.
>> Now, 100% and I was going to say something. Oh, one thing I'm really grateful for before we end this video is for my age. I'm 32 having my first child and this feels like the perfect age. And I feel like and have felt like society has put pressure on women to have kids.
Our generation is finally taking a step back and having kids and starting a family and starting a life when they feel ready. I'm so thankful that I'm doing this at 32. I feel ready. I feel like it's a great age to be a first-time mom. I think it's becoming more of the average age nowadays and I think it's wonderful. I just you know, there's some people who have kids younger and and good for them. That's amazing. But for me personally, I feel like this is the perfect age. Don't let society tell you that starting a family in your 30s is too old and too late. I think it's actually a beautiful time to start a family because you're more settled in life.
>> Yeah.
>> You're more financially stable. You're more mentally stable. I I just think that's very important when bringing a child into this world. So I feel not fully ready. I don't think you can ever be 100% ready.
>> Yeah.
>> Woo, it's a lot to think about. But I feel like it's a much better position than where we were 5 years ago.
>> Yeah, we had a great 20s and now we're going to have A GREAT 30S.
>> I CANNOT BELIEVE I CAN LIKE sometimes I think that oh my gosh, I just Oh, I JUST >> [screaming] >> THIS ULTRASOUND is everything. Look at baby.
>> I know. What up?
>> What up?
>> Four arms, four legs, big old head.
>> Giant.
>> They're every time I'm like, "Oh my gosh, baby has big hand." They're like, "They always start out like that." And I'm like, "I don't know."
>> That's a big head, but I have a big head, so. Charisma has a little head though, so >> teeny head.
>> Hopefully it'll be right in the middle.
>> Aw, baby so adorable. I'm so excited and I just cannot wait.
>> Okay, well I'm going to go um lay my head on Charisma's belly and listen to our baby do stuff.
>> You can't hear baby yet, but you know, it's fun to do it anyway.
>> Thanks for watching. Come with us on this next chapter, this next adventure.
Please. I think it's going to be awesome and we want to share all of the the joy along the way.
>> We're going to have to have a new intro and a new outro with baby.
>> We're going to have to do everything different. We're going to have a baby.
>> We're having a baby. Can y'all believe it? Cole and Charisma who you followed for so long is having a baby. Like people see us as people see us as they're like little kids. We have so many aunties and uncles and grandmas and grandpas on this channel.
>> All the internet aunties and uncles.
>> Yes. Okay, okay, wait. We got to go.
This video we just keep talking because we're so excited and we've been holding this secret for so long.
>> Face search from smile.
>> I know.
>> I was talking about it.
>> Okay, we got to go.
>> Thanks for watching.
>> Don't forget to like, comment, share, subscribe. And stay positive.
>> Stay pregnant.
>> Stay pregnant.
>> Bye.
>> Okay.
Sorry.
Sorry. Okay, bye.
Hello hello nugget.
>> Cute.
>> camera >> Cute.
>> I'm so annoyed cuz I literally have this It's not paper.
>> Oh, that's not going to tear well.
Are the scissors in the car?
>> Got it.
>> Oh.
>> Got it.
>> Oh.
Nice.
>> That was mean.
>> That's little Carter.
>> Carter >> Baby Carter.
>> Carter >> That's little Candace.
>> [laughter] >> Give me a hug.
>> These heels on your chair is >> Go for it.
>> [laughter] >> Perfect. That works. That works.
>> [laughter] >> Heck yeah. That was good. Oh dear god, now I'm getting dizzy.
>> [laughter] >> Wait, now >> Hold on. Hold on. I'm running up and down.
