The human eye is a spherical organ with multiple specialized components: the sclera (white outer coating), cornea (transparent window), aqueous humor (saline fluid in front chamber), vitreous humor (jelly-like substance in back chamber), lens (double convex protein lens that changes focal length), iris (shutter controlling light entry), retina (screen with rods and cones), and optic nerve (transmits visual signals to brain). The ciliary muscles contract and relax to change lens thickness, enabling focus on near and far objects. The yellow spot (macula) at the retina's center is most light-sensitive, containing only cones for color vision, while the blind spot lacks photoreceptors where the optic nerve exits.
