[00:00:00]People understand that by the Epstein class we mean the section of the capitalist class who are involved in the sort of atrocities we know now are common amongst the big boogeoisi. Now look at the case in Russia when the Marxists started organizing there. Do you think anyone knew what the bugeoisi was? Not really. And in fact the Russian capitalists were a relatively new phenomena. What's more literacy rates were what 10 12% in the 1880s. What did the Russian Marxists do? They taught the workers. They organized classes. They taught the workers how to read, how to write. They taught them that God didn't exist. They taught them about physics, about evolution, and most of all, they taught them about Marxism. That was part of how they succeeded. Now, thankfully, there's still some literacy left in the US.

We of course have to be tactical with how we talk about and use different terms at different points, but we have to teach people because it's not just a small group of communists that changes the world. It's actually the masses that make history. So if we want the masses of people in this country to not just be a force that's dominated by bgeoa society and drudges through everyday life reproducing the existing society and their own oppression. If we want for the masses to instead become a fighting and conscious force, we have to equip them with the theoretical tools to understand the reality so that they can change it. This is why Lenin says without revolutionary theory, there can be no revolutionary movement.
