>> So I know Doc Harvey.
>> Okay. serious.
>> No, it's because, you know, it's nice to talk to not just people we work with, you know, in the in the community, but also we're friends. So, >> for a long time, he was going to say, "It's nice to talk to other people other than you."
Meaning, I would say the same thing for to my husband. No, but on a serious note, doc, one of the things that we always wonder is cuz on the pod, we always talk about the conditions or health concerns that Harvey encounters in the Baron method.
>> As a practitioner at Central Holistico, what's the number one thing that you usually get now?
>> Yes.
>> For me, hormonal issues, fertility, that's the number one right now. But before sigurid started roughly pandemic the fertility issues but before that we would get a lot of cardio metatabolic issues the lots of medications the hypertension diabetes the obesity we would still get those um especially now but 50% or 60% of my patients are fertility and hormonal cases then the other 40% split up.
>> Okay. For the ones with hormone issues, is it becoming younger and younger or hind how young are you talking? Okay, I have a menopausal patient at 36.
>> 36. Yes. 36 years old wala ng menes me before the youngest before she came in 42 or 40 years old menes. So as in the and the symptoms don't start at 36. Even before that they would skip their men's already like early 30s.
kids. She has two kids. So after that, but yeah, it's it's becoming very very common.
>> So what do you think the issues are? I mean, why why so early younger and younger?
>> Yeah, I mean we know that the in our mindset until now it's still mid to late 40s cuz that's what we saw.
So what why do you think >> actually mid mid-4s but early cuz my mom I remember I think she got went into menopause 50s. Same with my mom usually but now 40s palang wala I think number one women are becoming too stressed we're becoming you know part of the workforce a lot of pressures also and then we are imbalances if you're going to look at the history I think women's bodies are more yin than yang in Chinese medicine so we're supposed to be more chill but because of the change in societal pressures mahalanga that so everyone has to hustle.
The the constant stress, the increase in cortisol levels can really wreak havoc in our reproductive system and our and the hormones. So that's where it starts.
And then the lifestyle is really a factor. Okay? The things that you eat, which you guys always talk about, the things that you put in your mouth, it really tells a lot of what will happen to you in the next 5 to 10 years. And a lot of microlastics, a lot of, you know, the hormones, the steroids, everything.
>> It's like it's coming from everywhere.
>> Everywhere. Just the the air that we breathe. It's really bad. Yeah. I was going to say hormitic stress activities like cold plunging and ganyan, how do you how does the hormones get affected by uh your saunas, your cold plunging?
>> Well, you know, Harvey would always tell me cuz he does cold plunges. I don't do well with cold as in I I feel the stress rising up in my body. So how is it different between a man and a woman?
>> Very much different in terms of the hormones palanga like we have more progesterone and estrogen. For men it's more testosterone. Men's bodies are warmer in general as compared to women.
That's why you're able to tolerate the cold better because to begin with. With women it depends on the body composition also. Like I know a lot of people that do the the contrast therapy, the hot cold thing, and they do really well like the they their bodies feel it.
>> A when I tried to do that e I don't know if I did it wrong or I just wasn't breathing properly, but it didn't work well for me.
>> Which one didn't work? The cold or the hot or both? The cold. But the hot wor I'm okay. I can sleep in our We have this dome in the clinic.
Ulo I can sleep there like no problem.
The pow level is >> is intense >> intense but it I can sleep in the heat but I cannot with a cold. Even when I go to the states winter months talaga ballot ballot to the next level. Now I I don't know if it's a it's it's a woman thing. It's a I think it's really based on our biologies. Women need more heat because our bodies again are naturally colder. I think it's the we have less testosterone. testosterone because it helps with your metabolism. So with um with us, we have less of that. So in terms of regulating our body temperature, we need more help with it.
So cold therapy based on studies cuz it's still good. But I think majority of the studies are predominantly male also.
So for if we were going to do some studies for women, I think we should should do that soon. Would we be get more data? Actually there are data coming out that uh that that's coming out with cold and and and I know you'll do well better you do better with hot >> with hot with yeah for women >> for women for women but in general overall uh but for women the cold plunge isn't as good um lua when you're in going into later menopause and things like that as a younger girl can handle the stressabolis metabolism. So, and then and then also they were they're they're talking about cuz you talked about cortisol and stress, right? So, you hit HIT workouts.
Do you you you look great. I mean, did you focus on HIT workouts or did you focus on losing weight or Harvey?
>> Okay. When I started, I focused a lot on the diet >> with the help of a lot of things. So that's what I started with cuz whenever I would do workouts.
>> So my knees my god I can't I couldn't believe my knees started to creek and you know all feel all of these things.
So I when I lost the weight that's when I started moving more. So it can be you know it can be a balikad thing. You start moving more so you will lose the weight. So it really depends. I wanted to focus more on my diet. Um guys, like the food noise is really bad. Ever since I was young, my my carb intake before every hour every after a consultation, I would need to choose something. So I really needed to control that. So we did the peptide therapy and everything. So I was able when I was able to control that, I had more energy. And then I started walking again. Walking even the jogging talaga the jogging went out the window because I couldn't I couldn't talaga. So now I'm focusing focusing more on the workouts.
Um weights thinking but now just more movement in general but that's also what you always tell people who inquire method.
I want I want to move >> but it's so hard. I don't have the energy. things hurt, I'm going to get injured.
>> So, it's really about, you know, trying to eat better and then lose a little weight, get better better energy.
>> And you always say this also, you guys match that you can just start walking.
That counts. Walking counts. It doesn't mean just walking counts.
>> You don't need to go to a gym like to move. My my husband, he looks really fit, but he we don't have a gym membership. He just does all the work.

He's I mean Dr. Ryan Dalma, he's he's just built he's built differently. His genetics, you know, ano he looks like the he looks like the rock literally.
>> He's a he's he only does 10-minute workouts.
>> That's it. Hi, Ryan.
It can go both ways. I have to say if if you if you don't put the 10 minutes in, also he can also be big. So I mean he puts the work in also but 10 minutes ever since he builds muscle but now layer fatas that's good.
In another episode we were talking about uh precocious puberty.
I forgot men like in the in the class of our daughter's 80 years old something like that.
There's a few of them batch 12 years old. I got mine 11 turning 12.
>> Yeah. I got mine 12 turning 30. 12 years old s and then I think I had some classmates 9 to 10 years old 9 to 10 even for our generation but now at 8 years old gra my daughter just had her period and she just turned 10 mega but you know she likes chicken you know the stuff that we love so it it's more now I think I talked about this like before it was it's all about detoxifying her body right now just so initially when she had her period good close together when I was counting.
So now I started we fixed her diet >> and thankfully she likes lettuce now and she likes spinach. So we're able to bring in all of the you know the the sulfur and the detoxifying things for her then she's she they've always been good with supplements. So we started now I started her with the detoxifying things for the estrogens and all that.
So now mascal naman.
>> See that's what I I was going to say cuz most moms especially on my Instagram they ask for themselves.
>> But when we came out with that episode about what can I do cuz my daughter has this and that and whatever guys consult I don't want >> check your blood.
>> Yes. cuz I don't want to ask you point blank cuz they're going to make it a cookie cutter thing and luna if you're dealing with minors. You cannot you cannot >> there are other issues then with this like they can't sleep or there are other issues like you talked about >> light exposure and then actually I was I was going to say you know you uh luna with with the kids today besides all the diet and all the cell phones the stress in school also affects them a lot right >> yes so >> yeah we were very we were very choosy with the school I didn't want my kids to go to a very traditional school and then with my other barcadas older kids homework until 9. I didn't want that. I want my kids asleep by 8.
>> So we when we chose the school very intentional school they um they really value the extracurricular activities outside of the school. no homework on certain days like with my with my kids school I think homework nila you can do it in 10 minutes if it's more than 10 minutes it should be done in school cuz they want the kids to rest at home and so far in terms of okay they have so much knowledge um not the traditional way that we know it but >> my my son talks to me about wars and I'm like where did you get all of those information our 13year-old is the same. So he doesn't the things that he discusses with that with us are not the things.
It's usually not.
>> Dr. You mentioned about supplements for kids cuz there are pe there are some parents that are scared about giving supplements about uh let's say liver and the kidney. I mean from your experience as somebody who sees people with you you recommend supplements I mean right?
>> Definitely. Do you think that it is there's such a stigma now sad for liver patients and kidney >> only if the supplements are not made well that's why it's important to get go to a reputable source >> may ISO certification cgmp and all that and then there are third party studies for mo a lot of the supplements so that's why we also carries the supplements I refer some of my patients to you guys actually for the supplements cuz now wala sa amen because we know that it's tested. You guys have studied your stuff and anything that you will take into your body has to be clean.
Now, when it comes to asking like do they need the supplements if their kids are able to take in like 2 kilos of vegetables a day? Maybe not.
>> Maybe not.
>> You guys heard that that 2 kilos of vegetables. 2 kilos of vegetables.
>> Kids can even get kids too cannot get hard. So and unfortunately the agricultural waste right now is so different. The soil is not as nourished as it was 50 years ago. So the amount of nutrients in an apple 30%.
So even if they eat let's say 10 fruits a day m 40 30% nutritional value I just supplement. And then the supplements that we choose usually for the kids but as close to the natural source as possible. Absolutely. So that's okay. If there is one tip guys, if you go to >> um one of those membership clubs now, groceries without name. I never name brands. H but chances are the supplements there, the bulk ones in big containers, >> it's not good quality. I never get from those.
>> There you go. There you go. I never get so great.
>> Not naming brands but >> Yeah. Not naming brands but part I mean like additives, preservatives and fillers so much fillers. So there are some supplements we've tested vitamin D. You can check it easily in your blood 5,000 IU every day. It never went up and then we switched to another brand cheapish brand.
It started going up. So we experiment on ourselves. I think that's more Yeah. And then we test brands tested na namin.
