Steaming Prostate Cancer Away with Urologist Dr. Jamin Brahmbhatt

[00:00:05]We are doing our first ever thermal water vapor therapy for prostate cancer using a new technology that is not available anywhere else. We're the first to do it here in Florida. Long story short, we steam the prostate. This is our This is our treatment plan here, which we mapped out the day before. We know his spots are positive biopsies.

[00:00:26]So, we're actually going to use [music] this treatment plan and set it up for our case today. This is a new treatment modality for patients with low-grade or intermediate-grade prostate cancer that want to have their cancer treated, but don't want to take their entire prostate out or have radiation done on their prostate. [music] You just saw us put in the transperineal saline catheters, which cools the prostate from the outside um or around the prostate before we start the treatment.

[00:00:54]So, all these men have had prostate biopsies, they've had MRIs, and we've diagnosed cancer on them. They may have had [music] one spot of cancer, they may have had two spots of cancer. So, once they got diagnosed with cancer, we offered them all treatment options.

[00:01:17]A lot of guys want to preserve their sex life. They don't want to leak.

[00:01:21]They don't want to go for radiation 40 treatments for several different weeks.

[00:01:25]They want something that's precise, that can treat their cancer, and get them back up on their feet much quicker.

[00:01:31]This is where I'm very excited to be able to offer this new treatment for patients here is because all those things that patients want, we can provide with this new procedure.

[00:01:42]Now, [music] everyone is not a candidate for this procedure. You have to talk to your urologist. Not everyone's a candidate for focal therapy. There's different types of focal therapies.

[00:01:51]Definitely, definitely, definitely talk to your urologist before you proceed with these interventions.

[00:01:56]But, if you are a candidate, I personally think this is the best treatment option for Penn.
