Vehicle temperatures can rise to over 100°F within just 5 minutes when outside temperatures are 80°F, and after 30 minutes of exposure, individuals experience severe dehydration symptoms including heavy sweating, difficulty breathing, significant drops in blood pressure, and increased heart rate, demonstrating that even short periods in a parked vehicle can lead to dangerous heat-related illness.

Do you think you could survive 30 minutes in a hot car?
Added:I feel great. I'm ready. Hydrated. I feel good.
>> All right, it gets hot really quick, especially here in El Paso, where here it gets hot really quick. I would say about 5 minutes is when the temperature starts rising, maybe even less. If it's hot outside, the car can reach up to over 100° if it's maybe 80° outside. So, it's it's very dangerous.
>> Breaking a big [music] sweat right now.
Let's go ahead and check the temperature, same position. I think I was at 98° right now.
All right, guys. So, we are at 25 minutes, and I am dripping sweat. It's really hot in here.
I can see it a little bit harder to breathe. [music] Start at 200° on the dash.
>> So, my colleague went inside the vehicle after the fact, after he was inside the vehicle.
His blood pressure went down significantly. His heart rate also increased a little bit. So, he did show show some signs of dehydration. Uh you start off with the basics, which is heat cramps. You start sweating, and then heat cramps, and then after that, you go into a heat stroke, which is the worst case scenario. Your body's really smart, and it's going to try to compensate by sweating, increasing heart rate, and increasing your blood pressure, but at some point it's just going to give out.
>> You know, that was 30 minutes. I don't know if I could have lasted any longer than that.
It's really hot in there, so No kids inside of vehicles, especially in Texas.
