Former President Barack Obama and former first lady Michelle Obama talk legacy

[00:00:00]The last time I was on this floor, it was still a construction site.

[00:00:04]>> We still had hard hats on.

[00:00:05]>> I was speechless, which is hard for me to be. [laughter] >> And people are going to experience that when they walk through through these doors. And they're also going to just learn more about your 8 years as president of the United States of America.

[00:00:17]>> They will.

[00:00:18]>> And what do you consider your greatest accomplishment?

[00:00:23]>> Look, uh there's a lot of stuff I'm proud of.

[00:00:27]Uh I I I for all the um resistance from uh our political opposition, uh you know, the Affordable Care Act has now helped 50, 60 million people uh and continues to help people even though uh the current Congress has has tried to weaken it and taken away some of the subsidies that were really helping a lot of working people. The thing I'm I'm probably the most proud of is um the tone we set.

[00:01:03]I'm very proud of um the message we sent to the country that uh we're representing everybody.

[00:01:11]>> Is there anything in looking back that you would do differently as president?

[00:01:15]>> Oh, I Look, there there there's I was used to feel like I was making a a mistake a day.

[00:01:21]The thing that we we were good at and allowed me to sleep at night and get up and go back at it um was I always felt that when we made decisions, we were making decisions with uh the American people in mind.
