Peace Deal News: US-Iran Technical Talks Delayed in Switzerland Over Complex Logistical Arrangements

[00:00:00]So now US and Iran talks seem to have been delayed as J.D. [music] Vance's departure has been put on hold. That's what we're learning from Axios' report now. The White House says plans for the upcoming US-Iran technical talks have not yet been finalized, [music] and the US delegation remains ready to leave as soon as arrangements have been completed. Vice President J.D. Vance will not depart [music] tonight as had been previously expected. The White House said negotiations with Iran involve complex and unpredictable logistics. Officials said they will provide an update once next steps are [music] confirmed. Washington reiterated that they want to begin technical talks with Iran [music] as soon as possible.

Ashraf, what more are we learning about this delay that's been referred to by the American media at this given point with regards to J.D. Vance's uh meet with the Iranian counterparts [music] at this given point to discuss the uh finer points of this very draft further.

[00:01:03]>> Actually, this this the important importance of the weekend or we can say the Friday in the Switzerland was signing of the Now, [music] that has been already signed both by the US president as well as by the Iranian president. Now, the first phase of talks will start between the Iran and US with their mediators. We have first seen that it was expected that Pakistani uh Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif will also head towards the uh Switzerland for the for the points of discussion of this MOU. But he first of all decided not to go there. Then it was expected that probably the speaker of the Iranian parliament Qalibaf will be there. He was not also there. What the reports we are getting, Uh did not reach it on uh Thursday because uh the Friday was the day which was set for these negotiations or for these dialogues. And also the Qatari team will be the part of those dialogues. So, four uh go delegations from four countries, Iran and America as well as from the mediation side, Pakistan and uh Qatar teams are expected. So, the uh uh the things are now getting clear that who will lead the which team. President of uh America was expected to be there. He was yesterday in the uh Washington. That was not That was clearly signaling that he's not going uh uh uh very soon. But, he said at the weekend, that means probably on Sunday these talks could happen in the Switzerland where the teams and delegations from the Iran as well as from the America and the mediation teams from Qatar and Pakistan will be taking part in the uh in the discussions and in these negotiations. Since the teams had not been framed, it is not clear who's coming from the Iran, who is coming from the America, and who are the leaders coming from the mediating country.

[00:03:07]>> So, it's not yet clear as to the leaders who will be attending these very talks and from both sides that is at this given point, which is why it seems to have been delayed. But, yes, both sides, at least the United States at this given point, do want to start with the negotiations in the beginning.
