This video discusses how media manipulation can distort public perception, using Tyra Banks' lawsuit against Netflix as an example where she claims the 'Reality Check' documentary manipulated her 4-hour interview into a 16-minute false narrative, demonstrating how selective editing and context removal can create damaging false narratives about real people.

Added:Hey, what's up Rockstars? It's Rox with a little bit of talk about what's at the top of the blog. So, let's get to it.
I must say I'm going to take some time off, y'all. All the cashiers they was like, "Somebody stole her drugs." It was like you could hear it all throughout the store. It's Rox coming to you today with a review for Love & Marriage: Detroit. Love & Marriage time >> [music] >> hour before Real Housewives of Atlanta.
Let's get to it, shall we?
>> [music] >> All right, you guys. I'm going to try to read this without my glasses. I really truly cannot see anymore. Like if I don't have my readers on, child, everything on here like I have everything printed in 16 font, size 16 font. And um that's the only reason why I can really see. But, child, don't let it be just regular 10, 12 font or whatever it is. [ __ ] it ain't getting read. Okay, let me try and start with the first story, Tyra. Tyra Banks is suing Netflix and the the directors of the um America's Next Top Model docu- docu-series that we watched. Remember it was called Reality Check: Inside America's Next Top Model. She's saying that the portrayal in the series was manipulated to create a false and damaging narrative. All right?
Basically, what Tyra is saying is that she sat down with them people who interviewed her for hours. Okay, damn near 4 hours that she sat down with the interviewers and she said only 16 minutes of what she said was used for the docu-series. She said that things was taken out of context. They shaved down. They rearranged what she was saying might have been saying something towards something else and that they used it to make it look like she was co-signing or saying that, you know, they just really tried to create this false narrative and paint Tyra in a in a bad picture and it definitely did work because everybody was mad at at Tyra after that docu-series, okay? She said that after she watched the docu-series, she did not never know that the girl Shani, was that her name? Shan Shandy.
She said she didn't even know that Shandy had considered that whole situation sexual um a sexual [snorts] assault. She said that cuz it those words were never talked about when it happened, which is true. I don't believe that they ever said that it was sexual assault either. It has become sexual assault for Shandy or she said that on the docu-series, but Tyra said that it was never addressed that way, so she's never looked at it that way. It was two at that time it was two people that were consenting. Might have been [ __ ] up, okay, but they were adults and they were consenting and they wanted to have sex with each with each other and they did and somehow it was turned around to make it seem like it was Tyra's fault, okay?
She's also saying that she she also addresses, I don't know what she says about it though cuz I haven't seen the paperwork, but she also addresses, you know, them saying that she never visited Miss Jay um during you know, after he after he had had the stroke. And so she obviously if he says she hasn't visited visited him, she hasn't visited him, but I think that Tyra is saying that there's more to the story of the reason why she hasn't visited him and they did not address any of that in the documentary, okay? And she said there's many other things that they're going to address in the court case, but um yeah, she she she don't like the way that they trying to push a narrative and make it all seem like she was the bad guy on the show. I got to put my glasses back on y'all. I'm working too hard.
>> [laughter] >> Um anyway, she's also suing she's also suing for damages including loss of future business opportunities, loss of business income and other compounding losses that they also will show a trial.
So, yeah, Tyra is coming after the people um because it didn't work out the way that she thought it was. I mean, it did kind of seem like they was putting it all on Tyra when it was like everybody that was on the show. If we was going all be mad at Tyra, then we needed to be mad at everybody because everybody was doing doing it. Yes, Tyra is the face of the show, but you know, they all stayed on and people had a choice whether they wanted to leave or not. Even if you felt pressured to stay, you could have took your ass on. Okay, so maybe it hasn't been the fairest to Tyra and she was just like, "Yeah, we taking it to court.
We taking it to court." So, we'll see what happens with that or if they going to decide to settle uh whatever comes comes out of it, I will let you guys know. All right, next story.
>> [snorts] >> All right, you guys, they say Mystikal uh mama named him oh Jonathan What's his name?
I forgot to put it in here, you guys, but you guys know Mystikal, shake it fast, you know, from uh No Limit Soldiers, one of Master P's um artists and all of that.
Um he was finally sentenced for 20 years in prison, which you might as well say is for the rest of his life cuz Mystikal is somewhere around my age. I think I'm older than him, but he's got to be somewhere around 50. Okay, so he's going to be in jail till he's 70. I mean, he can get out and still, you you have a little bit of his life ahead of him, but for the most part the rest of his life.
Okay, now he is in jail because he played guilty to a 2022 rape case um that happened at his home. Remember I was telling you guys that he was there with his girlfriend, I believe at the time. He had felt that she had robbed him or stole some money from him, and so he ended up locking her in the house, would not let her leave, took her keys and all her [ __ ] and then raped her repeatedly.
And then made her cash app some money to him before he let her go. Um she had always said that he was very high and just on drugs and [ __ ] and he didn't know which way was up. Um which he must have been for him to decide to let her go after he had done all that and did not think that the girl was going to report it to the police. Um and especially since he had just got out of jail from the 6-month, I mean the 6-year stint that he had done in prison for a former case against his hairdresser. So, Mystikal has you know, Mystikal had some problems.
Mystikal definitely had some problems if he was high and on drugs and [ __ ] then um I guess that's why he was that that was the reason why he was behaving the way that he was. At any rate, they ended up arresting him. He had been in jail since then, and now he's finally um been sentenced and it's going to be 20 years in prison now.
He was originally charged with first-degree rape, which carries a life sentence, but he ended up accepting a plea deal for third-degree rape and 20 years.
Okay, and they said that in court Mystikal said that if I did all of that to you, then I deserve the maximum sentence. So, I guess he's trying to be, you know, he's trying to take accountability for um his actions. Um and yeah, 20 years, you guys, it's just a life down the drain. So much talent, so many people loved his music, and for this I mean, he even performed at my husband's motorcycle club, child, at they one of they annual parties that they have. And everybody talked about how much fun it was, and how good he was, and all of that, and it's just a shame, you guys, just a shame. But, yeah.
That's it. I don't know what else to tell you. Mr. Cool and Jelle y'all for 20 damn years. Next story.
All right, you guys, Jelly Roll. I didn't even find out what his mama named him, but they say that he's divorcing his wife, Bunny.
Now, I don't know much about Jelly Roll.
I know that he's a country singer. I know that he was a heavy set man, and then he had surgery, and he lost all this weight. Um I know that he was married to a very pretty woman by the name of Bunny. Um I know that he's, you know, like K. Michelle sang at the Country Music Awards with him recently.
Um and I and I knew that he had become like an extreme Christian.
Um you know, recently. At least I can guess that's recent. I don't know, has he always been like that, child? But, other than that, I ain't I don't really know much about Jelly Roll. I did know that he and his wife always spoke very highly of each other, very glowingly of each other. You know, he's been known to say that his wife saved his life, you know, that without her, you know, she wouldn't have got him uh I guess he was on something, drinking or drugs or something, that she wouldn't have got him together, cleaned him up, you know, helped him in his journey of losing the weight, you know, helped him in his journey of making his career, you know, like this wife has been the one.
They've talked about each other. She's talked about how much she loves him, how much, you know, the sun rises and sets with him. I mean, she's always talked glowingly of him. So, it was very shocking to hear that, you know, they're getting a divorce.
That he actually has filed for a divorce after 10 years of marriage with this woman. I've been seeing a lot of people roasting Jelly Roll on social media because of her being so loyal to him and for him deciding to kick her to the curb. Of course, we don't know what happens behind closed doors. There may have be a very different story, a different picture painted than what we see in public. But, yeah, people is not happy about it. I know one thing, his wife is a very beautiful woman. Um she will be able to move on and find somebody else.
They're already saying that Jelly rumors is already floating around that Jelly Roll has somebody else waiting in the wings.
And I guess we'll just have to wait to see if that's what happens. But, yeah, some people are just so like, "How dare this [ __ ] He didn't lost all his weight. Now he didn't found and you know, he feeling himself and now he feel like he can drop this woman and just move on with his life."
Yeah, they had they they say that happens. They say a lot of times that people that lose a lot of weight that, you know, there is a higher percentage of of people marriages that end in divorce when they have a spouse or mate that has lost a lot of weight.
Mister lost a lot of weight. He had surgery.
Um cuz Mister was heavy for 15 years of our marriage. And then after he had a surgery and he lost all the weight, you know, I don't know. It didn't feel like it put a strain. I felt like actually it made things better, you know, cuz he was able to do more things and it just it it did change, but not for the worse.
But, I guess that's not how it happens for a lot of other people. So, but yeah, [clears throat] I feel pretty sorry for Bunny.
But, I mean, these things happen. You know, she's going to be fine. And Jelly going to be fine, too. What's that Jelly Roll?
Jelly Roll going to be fine, too. But, yeah, that's that that that unfortunately that happens a lot of times. You know, a lot of times men just decide that they can find something better.
Okay, so his daughter has told everybody to get out they business. Okay, that is a private affair and they shouldn't even be concerned. So, I'm just going to not be concerned. Okay, cuz I seen how he been talking. He's MAGA. Jelly Roll is MAGA. They did say that the reason for their divorce is because of differences in religious beliefs. And because I think that he's become almost a Christian fanatic, that's probably what's been the issue. Okay, but I still will keep my eyes open for if this here for sitting around the corner somewhere waiting for him to get clear to this here marriage. Okay?
All right, let's move on to the next story.
Lil Nas X, dang, I didn't get his name either. All the names I didn't forgot.
Lil Nas X has posted a video, you guys. You guys, we haven't seen Lil Nas X since he was walking naked down um out there in Van Nuys, California. What was the street? I can't think of the street. But you guys remember he was on high on drugs and he was naked and he was walking down the middle of the street and they had to get him.
Um Apparently from that incident, he spent the last few months in rehab.
So, apparently they didn't put him in jail. They ended up putting him in a program. He's been in that program for the last three last few months since since things have happened. And then he also made it back home.
Um but he said that uh you know, the rehab looks like it's been helping him.
He looks good. He looks good. He was just saying that um he found out, you know, he was diagnosed with bipolarism while he was in rehab. And he said that he had always knew known that he probably was bi had bipolarism, but he didn't accept it because, you know, he didn't want to be on medication. I'm sure he didn't want people to be telling him that he was crazy or something like that, you know, not saying about bipolarism is craziness, but I'm just telling you guys what he said.
And um he didn't want to be on medication. So, but he did finally work with a counselor and a psychiatrist, and he said that it's been helping him.
Um he said that he's between Los Angeles and Atlanta.
You know, and he's just trying to stay on track. He said he music eventually will be coming, but that's not his focus right now. I'm sure his focus is trying to make sure that his mental health um and his addiction, you know, stays in check. And um good for him. When I was looking at it, I just had like a It was touching, you guys.
That addiction is rough.
Anyway.
Anyway, you guys, he thanked everybody for holding him down.
And he said that he will uh try to make both himself and us proud, so.
Warmed my heart, you guys. It did.
Good for him. Let's move on to the next story.
All right, you guys, next story of Big Tigger. This is an update on the story that I did last week. So, last week, remember I was telling you guys that Big Tigger's ex-wife or his wife, maybe they're estranged.
Child, we don't even know if she's even the wife, but whoever she is, she claims that she's an ex-wife and he has not denied it, so I guess we will say that his ex his um his wife she had posted a picture or a video of herself crying with all her face all banged up and stitched up and black eye and swollen and all that and said ask my ask my husband Tigger how my face happened. Um well, finally, when I posted that last top of the blogs that that Thursday, Tigger actually had went back on air cuz he hadn't been on air um she had made the announcement on the weekend and then he had taken Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday off air. So, on Thursday when he finally came back on air, he told us that we have known him for 30 plus years on radio and TV and that we have never known Tigger to be the person that has been, you know, that he's being painted out to be.
Um And he said that even though he can't really speak much on the investigation that is in place right now, you know, that he categorically is innocent of any charges or any any accusations against him like you know, that people know his character, that he's not that person.
Um we also have Francesca, um you know, his co-host. He said that he wasn't sleeping with her. She said that, you know, she wasn't sleeping with him. She said how frustrating it had been to be working so hard at her career, you know, that she has respect for marriage and she would never be with Tigger or any other married man, you know, she comes from families that, you know, everybody is still married and she, you know, highly respects the union and so she wouldn't do that. Um so, you know, they both were on the air and they both cleared their their names and um aw. So, I was just like, "Okay, well, we'll just see where it goes now."
Either that same day or the next day the the wife comes back out and say I was the same day. The wife puts out a statement the same day that Tigger did and said that, amongst other things she going to say, "I didn't never say that Tigger was the person that, you know, beat me up or messed up my face. I never accused him of being an abuser. I just told you guys to ask him what happened."
I said, "Girl, listen, this is not a case of semantics.
You put a video up there and made it look like you got beat up by uh um by Tigger just from what you said in the damn We reading your comment. Okay? So, what is people to assume when you ask that? So, that's when I was just like, this girl I something is not right there. And we just going to wait and see what happens with her missing child. Okay?
Because the the hus- the [clears throat] the the father of the the the kid that's missing he did an interview with Joe and uh what's the girl's name? You guys know who I'm talking about. Joe Claire and the other girl. Um and he told them like he knows where the child is now that it's with the wife's Tigger's wife's mother. They believe that the child is around 17 years old now and all this and you know, it looks like he's working with the police and that they're going to be honing in on the situation. Okay? But um so, that's what where I want to know what's going on with the child. Is the child safe and all of that? Um and then hopefully now that the lady is saying that Tigger didn't do it, let's hope that Tigger's name is cleared and whatever is going on with the woman child, they get that resolved. And and if it got to come down to an a divorce, which it should at this point. Okay?
Everybody can move on and do all of that. But I had to check out from that situation cuz I was just like, girl, you over there playing with this man's life. You can com- completely change the the direction of his life by putting out those kind of accusations. Okay? So, that's when I was over talking about I love my family and I won't engage in public discussions and debates about Girl, what? You're the one came to us. So, yeah, you guys, that's that's that on that story, child. I don't I don't think we going to be talking about that much more anymore.
But I will let you know if Tigger's name is cleared. Okay? Next story.
Okay, you guys. The The girl that was thrown off the bridge with the no bungee cord.
This happened down in Brazil, okay, at the Ponte do Esqueleto, which stands for skeleton bridge. I know I butchered that, but that's what I was trying to say in Spanish, in the Limeira in Limeira Limeira São Paulo.
This is in Brazil.
Okay. [clears throat] Um 21-year-old Brazilian woman Maria Eduarda Rodrigues, they freaked us.
She was at the She had booked a guided rope jump. So, the guided rope jump is when you swing. So, you go out and then you fall all the way down and then you swing back and forth like this, okay? Bungee jump jump is when you actually are connect to an elastic cord and so you you know, jump you jump and you fall all the way down as far as the cord will stretch and then it snatches you back up and then you bounce back and forth and all. So, those are the two differences.
She was actually on the one where you swing like this. So, she booked the jump on this bridge and then she told the the the instructors there that she wanted to do the airplane dive, which is where they put you over your head their head and then they throw you off of the um bridge. So, she actually paid money to have them do that, okay? Um and so, there's a video of this young lady. They're over She She's over their head and I'm looking.
She ain't attached to nothing and there's a video. I guess everybody was paying attention to I don't know. I just don't understand how this even happened, you guys, but nobody noticed that she was not connect connected to anything. I mean, she literally was just up in the air. And right when they got to the edge of the bridge and they threw her, as they were throwing her, somebody said, "OH MY GOD, THE ROPE." OKAY? And then the camera, because this is on video, the camera pans down and you see the rope just curled up right there on the floor.
And they just then threw this girl off of this damn bridge and she then fell 130 131 ft to her death. Okay?
Um such I mean, the most tragic When I saw that video, they showed it from a couple of different angles. I couldn't even Just watching them throw that girl, I just was like, "Oh my god." I felt so traumatized by that. Just knowing that they just threw this girl off of this thing and not out of all of the people that was up there, nobody There's not a checks and balance where they say, "Okay, this is clicked on. This is on here. We got this. Check, check, check, check, check." There's none of that.
Well, come to find out that the people that was actually running this uh business, they're not even They're They're not even supposed to be up there doing it. They don't have an official company where they're doing this. There's just some guys that have gotten together that have been on that bridge, I guess, for some time and have been doing it, but they don't necessarily um They're not regulated. And they don't have like the proper experience to even be doing something like this. So, that was the first thing. So, then they said that when they threw her off, the fiance standing up there, everybody standing up there, they said the fiance got sick, okay, once he realized it. They said that the guys that did it actually left, okay? And that the authorities actually had to go find them. They ended up getting arrested and um looks like they are thinking about charging them with murder. Okay, because and they should. This is definitely even if that was not your intention.
They said that um the men were apprehended and arrested charged with homicide with dolus eventualis, which means that they were aware of the risk of death but proceeded anyway. Okay.
Um And like I said, come to find out they weren't even regulated to operate at the site. So, it was just like, you guys was just out there throwing people off the bridges and it's just all worked out up until now.
I'm telling you, when I think about all of the people that have done the bungee jump jumps and doing all of that like and I just be like, oh my god, like it's just so terrifying to know that there's people out there that just don't really [ __ ] know what they're doing. And you just will go out there as a a tourist or something and thinking that you having a good time and get, you know, connected. That's why I don't do all that [ __ ] That's why I don't do all that [ __ ] Mr. love to go on a Mr. love an excursion. We be up at 6:00 in the morning catching the bus you know, when we go on vacation, we going somewhere. Okay? And I'll be like, I'm on vacation. I just want to sit. Mr. wants to go and have adventure. Okay?
And just thinking about people this happening like it just makes my I just feel so bad for that girl and that family. Oh my god.
Can you imagine? I still just don't UNDERSTAND WHY NOBODY NOTICED THAT THIS GIRL I MEAN THAT FIRST THING I SAW when I saw maybe cuz I was looking for it, but I was like, this girl ain't had nothing. I was thinking that maybe she had some [ __ ] but it wasn't connected.
No, no, no. She had nothing on her. They just had her in the air, you guys. It was awful. Awful. Awful. Awful. So.
Yeah, you guys. That's terrible. You know, if guys are even if they their intention was not to kill this woman, they need to be held responsible because you have lacked so much. I mean, you didn't have child, I'mma move on cuz I'mma just keep on saying she wasn't connected to nothing.
Okay?
Terrible, terrible, terrible, terrible.
Let's move on to the next story.
Lastly in quickies, you guys, a few things. Venus and Serena, they're playing the doubles at Wimbledon on a wild card, you guys. And um it's so nice to see the sisters back out there doing their thug thizzle.
They are six-time Wimbledon doubles champions, okay? Um and the last title that they won was in 2016. So, it's been 10 years.
Um Serena's been retired. Is Venus retired as well?
Not sure, but you know, Serena did make her comeback and she was she was playing the doubles with the young girl um in Boko. What's her name? I'm sorry, you guys. I don't I don't have that with me. But you know, she was I told you guys last week that they were going to be playing and then we were going to see if she was going to come back to all these other different tennis matches.
And she has decided to come back for this, but with Venus because her the the other girl, the 19-year-old girl, Boko, she ended up injuring herself when they played at in Germany, I believe it was at the last um at the last was it Germany? No, they were at the French Open.
Child, don't get me to lying. But anyway, the young girl ended up getting injured. And so, that's when Serena ended up getting back together with Venus and now they're going to be, you know, they're playing that um at Wimbledon. So, good for them, you guys. What do you think about it? Do you think that they have a chance? I mean, these are two mega big, you know, big-time winners in the tennis game. So, you know, even though they've been gone from the course for some time, like I'm I'm sure it's kind of like riding a bike, huh? You know, maybe you just get back out there in it, you know. Even though tennis is hard on your legs and hard on your knees, all that running and stopping and having to do all of that, you know, I'm sure it wears on the body.
Um but we are talking about Venus and Serena, so it'll be good to see them there. I hope that they win.
Um because don't they have more isn't it rounds or something or have they already played? Child, don't give me the line. I did see them two on the on the field together, on the court together.
But I think they have some more coming up, right?
>> [laughter] >> Sorry.
Oh, let me get you guys confused. And then lastly, you guys, there is an extreme Drake fan who wants me to let you guys know that Drake has had 4 weeks at number one, his album Ice Man. Remember I told you guys I didn't think he was going to be able to do it. Well, turns out he's been able to do it and he's still there. Okay? So, congratulations to him. I didn't know that my opinion mattered this much, but I'm assuming that it does, you guys. So, um I will say congratulations to Drake. I hope that you stay there as long as you can stay there. All right? All right.
That's that on that.
All right, you guys, I'm going to get on up out of here, go get go get me something to eat and then take it on back to the office.
We do this every single week, so make sure you thumbs up the video, comment, and subscribe, and make sure you come back.
