‘Bin the budget’: Joyce unloads on Labor's ‘trainwreck’ backflip

[00:00:06]Barnaby, great to see you. And Patricia says this backdown isn't a backdown.

[00:00:11]Well, is this non-backdown a big enough backdown for you?

[00:00:15]>> Jim, what does a bus look like when you're underneath it and it's driving over you? [laughter] We talk about the Prime Minister throwing his treasure under a bus, which he had to do because you shouldn't have been the budget. It's a disaster. I mean, we could see this coming a mile away. I wrote about this ages ago. I just said, "Look, mate, that debt or Vicky wrote about, sorry. There's a bus that you can hear the churning of this bus warming up in the back room, and its driver is the member for Grayndler, and Jim is called I don't know Mac. He just goes right over the top of it cuz it was a disaster. We we It was the most panned budget in my time in politics. It's a complete train wreck, and it hasn't really got a lot better.

[00:01:03]But it but >> So they lie it's not a backdown backdown from a Yeah, but it's it's so let me get this straight. It's it's a lie about a backdown that was in of tax that was introduced by a lie. Well, I mean, at least they're consistent, Barnaby, so I'll give them that. Today Pauline Hanson's speech attacking multiculturalism. It was it was in turn attacked as mean and divisive and racist by people including the Human Rights Commission, the government's envoy against Islamophobia, Anthony Albanese, Angus Taylor, the Greens, and the ABC. Well, I don't worry about that one, but I just wanted to I wanted to get a nice list. I'm bulking it up.

[00:01:49]And the Greens and the ABC as well, of course. With all these people against that, does that prove that Pauline Hanson's her was bad?

[00:01:57]>> It proves that she has the the the strength to say the bleeding obvious that you can't have you can't have multiculturalism. You have to have Australian guardrails and you work within those guardrails because if you believe all cultural all cultures are of an equivalence then I suppose if you had the Inca culture here where they said we got to chop your head off and take your heart out and roll your head down the the steps of the pyramid so the sun will rise. Well, that's a culture. There's a civilization. It just have has no equivalence.

[00:02:28]And if in a culture in its literal form it says you got to kill these people because they're not appropriate then I'm sorry.

[00:02:37]Um we can't accept that in Australia. I don't know where Angus was. I'm very disappointed with Angus.

[00:02:42]We have no problems with the color of your skin. We have no problems with with your faith, no problems with your creed.

[00:02:48]We're just saying that within Australia you must work within the Australian guardrails. And some of the people who want you to work within the guardrails, listen to this, I like that the gay community. They said, "Well, if you work outside the guardrails, we're in trouble because some of these cultures say that we're an anathema. We we have to be thrown off a building and that is just completely and utterly untenable."
