The Protect Our Polls Act is a Senate bill introduced by Senator Alyssa Slotkin that would prohibit the president from deploying armed federal forces (including troops, National Guard, ICE, FBI, and DHS) to election sites without congressional approval, requiring 48 hours advance intelligence evidence of threats that state officials cannot handle; this legislation addresses concerns about potential election interference by closing a loophole that could allow federal forces to be deployed under the guise of protecting against 'armed enemies of the state,' thereby preventing federal troops from surrounding polling places, seizing ballot boxes, or intimidating voters.

HEADS UP: The Protect Our Polls Act: This Is Not A Drill!
Added:Hey, Grizz. Happy Saturday. Story time.
I'm getting ready to get in the shower last night and I see Alyssa Slotkin and a couple other senators talking about this Protect Our Polls Act and I was like, what is that about? Y'all, I did some research and the very fact that this bill is even necessary should actually stop all of us in our tracks.
Okay? Because to say that the reason this bill is necessary is because the Democrats already tried two times in the last month and a half to get Republicans to vote basically saying that President Trump can't send armed federal troops to the polls and they were like hard pass.
He can do it if he wants. Let's talk about it. Let's start with the Cheeto and Chief, okay? Cuz every single time that Trump is asked about it, he says I'll do anything necessary to make sure that elections are fair and honest. And no doubt y'all have heard Steve Bannon waxing poetic about how oh yeah we're going to surround the polls with ice and then Mark Wayne Mullins won't rule it out. The point is none of them will rule it out and this is why you can't say that this is the Democrats overreacting when the people that are in charge won't rule it out. And um I don't know if you guys were like on the planet or whatever but what they did on January 6th is a demonstration of what they will do when they don't get their way at the polls.
So before this act was introduced in the Senate by Alyssa Slotkin, they had already tried two other times. Right now guys, if you want all the nitty-gritty and the details, I write this up every single day. It's free. It's on my Substack. Go to thegrizzlyreport.com.
I'm just going to hit the high notes here. So they had already tried to attach it as amendments, right? May 21st, the Republicans blocked a DHS amendment to ban armed federal agents at polling places and to prevent the seizure of ballots. They blocked that amendment. What? And then on June 12th, they blocked her defense bill amendment to stop military interference in elections. Um, I'm sorry. Don't see those as flashing red lights. Then we're not paying attention. So that's why they're introducing this standalone act called Protect Our Poll. Let me just step back for one second, guys. These were not amendments saying, "Oh, yeah, election fraud is okay, that election offices should have no protections at all." No, this was simply saying that effectively the president couldn't use federal like armed military assets to interfere with the election process. And the GOP senators said no to putting guard rails on the president. Let's be super clear about what that means. That means they are greenlighting the president, leaving the door open for federal power to surround the polls, take voting machines, ballots, and surround election offices in general.
They are refusing to put a hard legal wall between the president and the ballot box. So guys, you this is something that people need like I I I try not to be, you know, a fear-mongerer, but this is really serious. This is not a drill. Please share this information. So what does this bill actually do? Okay, now we have lots of federal laws, right, that basically say you can't send federal troops, you can't intimidate voters, all of those things, but there's one loophole, and if we know anything about the Mango Mussolini, it's that he lives in the loopholes. What this loophole says is that the only exception to these rules are that if there are armed enemies of the state, basically trying to interfere with elections. And real quickly though, what is it that they've been calling Democrats, right? We're enemies of the state. We're TR. Okay.
So, in plain English, what this bill would do is stop the president from sending active duty troops federalizing the National Guard, ICE, FBI, DHS, or other armed enforcement agencies to election sites unless Congress approved it first. And it would apply to polling places, ballot centers, voting machine facilities, election offices, all of those kinds of things. Oh, and importantly, it would also block federal forces from being able to seize ballot boxes. Remember how Trump said that it was a mistake that he didn't seize the ballot boxes in 2020 and then he went on to insight and insurrection. Yeah, you guys were there. You remember under this bill what would happen is before armed federal forces were deployed, the president would basically have to come to Congress, prove with intelligence, okay, not his, but like actual, you know, intel from agencies that there was a problem that state and local officials could not handle and that information would have to be provided 48 hours in advance. Stick with me because I think something that Trump is building is going to be used as a lever here. So, let me explain that in a second.
Basically, it would make it so that Trump couldn't just be like, "Oh, I saw something on Truth Social that's trending. Let me deploy the federal troops." He would have to have evidence of an actual threat and congressional approval before deployment of said troops. Basically, no, trust me, bro energy. Now, here's the part that I said the thing that Trump was building. So, if you'll remember, Trump has said, "Oh, yeah, we had a huge election integrity army in 2024. or we're going to have an even bigger one in 2026. Here's the thing. Again, remember the loophole. It says armed enemies of the state. So, since he's basically encouraging these people, right, to post up around polling locations, a lot of these states, you're allowed to have a weapon, not in the polling place, but around it. He could use that as the very justification to deploy troops because it would be hard to say just from looking, right, which party they're with. I hope you guys understand what I'm saying there. It would be like the arsonist calling 911 and saying, "Hey, can you put me in charge of the fire department?" Trump creates the fraud panic. Then he trains an army of people to post up with weapons around polling locations. And then he exploits that loophole to deploy said federal troops to polling places.
Because once federal troops are standing between voters and the ballot box, the the damage is already done. I think we should also say that things like bomb threats could also justify that. And I don't know if you guys remember, but back in 2024, strangely, in a lot of like blue and swing states, there were a whole lot of bomb threats. Places like Georgia, Michigan, Arizona, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, those states already had bomb threats, which they later said were were sent by Russian email accounts and weren't credible. But it didn't change the on the ground impact, which was that a lot of the the voters were disrupted.
They had to keep the polling places open late. And again, this could be used as a justification for armed enemies of the state. The Protect Our Polls Act is designed specifically to protect against that. And I do want to side note here for a second and say that election fraud in this country is so small it doesn't even justify group chat. Because when Biden got elected in 2020, Trump was the president. So if there was a failure of election security, it was Trump's. And then when Trump got reelected, Biden was the president. So, it's like you guys think that what we we suddenly forgot how to rig elections if that's what was going on. No, the truth is no one's rigging elections. Voter fraud is already a crime in this country. That happens in in a minuscule amount that's not even worth discussing. Obviously, this is happening because the GOP knows.
Y'all have been out here showing your ass for the last 18 months on your knees for Trump and the bill is coming due.
So, they they get it. They can't have the voters going to the polls. This is urgent because Congress will go to recess over the summer. What I need you guys to do is a please share this video and b I I'm I know everybody's like, "Oh, calling your reps doesn't do anything." But you need to make sure that you're calling them and letting them know, hey, where do you stand on this Protect the Polls Act? Because those other two bills, right, excuse me, the amendments, they it was so under the radar, most people didn't even notice it. Okay? Like, I'm a nerd and I watch this kind of stuff and I barely noticed it. But this particular bill is a standalone bill. So it's totally fair to ask them. And don't let them give you word salad like, "Oh, I I approve of election integrity." No. Where do you stand on the Protect Our Polls Act? Cuz that's not a partisan issue. That's simply saying that the federal government shouldn't be allowed to intimidate voters because any lawmaker that refuses to protect voters from armed federal power at the ballot box is not protecting election integrity. They are protecting Trump's ability to interfere with the next election. Please share this.
