Republicans are more willing to engage in hostile media environments than Democrats, partly because Democrats control more of the media landscape (ABC, CBS, New York Times, CNN), and partly because Democrats tend to view such interactions as unnecessary or unworthy, while Republicans are more confident and comfortable having tough conversations with those who disagree.

REPUBLICANS GOING INTO HOSTILE MEDIA ENVIRONMENTS
Added:Republicans are far more willing to step into hostile media environments and have tough conversations than Democrats are.
J.D. on The View, for example. He should get credit for that. I mean, that was a painful interview >> No, I shouldn't. I I don't I disagree with this. There's two reasons. One is because Democrats control more of the media landscape. So, I mean, we have a handful of places that we can go and more and more independent media. 100% but ABC, CBS, New York Times, CNN are hostile media environments for any Republican. It's just So, the the landscape is dominated by the left.
Number two, and and this is something I I can tell you having written five books, every publicist believes that that's a good idea. They're like, "If you go into the lion's den, it's going to somehow sell books." I don't agree with that. I think this is a it it is just not true. The audience that you're going into but this is the the reflex of every book publicist. You should go on The View. You should go do this, you know, left-wing show on CNN.
Like, that's what they view as as good for sales. I just I can tell you after done doing five books, it's not it's it's not good advice.
>> Um I I so I I disagree with Sean a little bit. I always say the number one rated cable channel is Fox. Most most most most alternative media, the most popular outfits are right-leaning. I I I just think Democrats view everything as right and wrong and they feel like they don't want to dignify going to talk to people who they disagree with. Whereas, Republicans are much more confident and comfortable going in and kind of having these conversations. So, I actually wish more Democrats would.
>> Yeah.
>> I I I I I think it'd be better for the party. You'd be more successful if you were willing to calmly go on and kind of have a laugh and defend your arguments amongst people who disagree and try to persuade them.
