Sacrificing meritocratic standards in critical infrastructure for identity-based quotas is a systemic risk disguised as social progress. This policy prioritizes performative equity over operational reliability, inevitably inviting the federal legal challenges it now faces.

Vance's SHOCKING Press Conference as CA Goes DARK Over Diversity Mandate
Added:J.D. Vance just walked into the lion's den, and he didn't just arrive, he took the media's entire narrative and shredded it. You have to see how he handled the press this morning. It was a master class in shutting down the talking points. And if you think that's bad for the media and Democrats, wait until you see the new numbers that just dropped. They are absolutely plummeting.
I've got the data that proves the press is losing the country and Democrats are losing their love for the United States of America. Then we're going to head to California where the circus has officially gone off the rails. Gavin Newsom's state is now under the microscope for forcing utility companies to prioritize social engineering over keeping your lights on. We're talking multi-million dollar contracts that you only get if you pass a government-mandated diversity program.
No, I'm not making this up. I wish I was. I'll break down exactly how they're doing it. But first, we start in France.
The signatures are down, the ink is dry, and Washington is officially in the peace business. President Trump led the charge, literally, signing the deal over dinner with Emmanuel Macron at Versailles. And apparently, they celebrated his 80th birthday as well. He got a little statecraft on the side. But the overall real curveball, Iran signed shortly after. Now, the clock is ticking. 60 days to turn this memorandum of understanding into a final deal.
We'll see if Tehran actually means it or if they're just waiting for the next news cycle. And while the suits are busy shaking hands, you're the one actually getting the gift.
>> I think the president's peace plan in Iran has already bearing real fruits for the American people. Last night, 12.5 million barrels of oil went through the Strait of Hormuz. That is a high since the beginning of the conflict. Oil prices are down nearly at their level from the pre-war conflict. Gas prices dropped below $4 a gallon today for the first time since the conflict. And importantly, they're going to keep falling further given how low price low oil prices are.
>> Now, after the media stopped rolling their cameras at Versailles, the two leaders took a victory lap to the palace. The optics, They're something else. I mean, Macron is looking at Trump with more affection than he gives his own wife. Forget that alienated allies narrative the media spent years peddling. This video just nuked that talking point into oblivion. But once the festivities were over, it was back to reality. Trump and his team flew back to DC knowing the real war is just getting started, and it's not in the Middle East. It's against the media right here at home.
>> You know, I've seen skeptics of the deal. People say the Iranians will never change their behavior. Well, maybe that's true, and if so, they don't get any of the benefits of the bargain. I tend to think that you should trust the people who know the Iranians the best and who have the most to lose. What are the Gulf Arab states saying about this deal?
What are they saying about this deal compared to the JCPOA in 2015? This is the Obama nuclear deal. Well, back then, they hated that deal. They felt like it empowered the Iranians to be bad actors across the region, and of course, that's exactly what happened. They were right about that. What are they saying about the president's peace deal? They're saying this is an amazingly transformative thing for the region because either way, we and the broader region win. Iran is weakened, their nuclear program destroyed, their economy in desperate straits, and if they change their behavior, big things are going to happen for Iran and for the world. If they don't, no skin off our backs.
>> The administration says the plan is actually pretty simple. If Iran behaves, it gets access to the same opportunities that it had before the war. Nothing more, no bonus prizes. And definitely no pallets of cash flying into Tehran in the middle of the night like we saw under Obama.
>> What is the benefit that the Iranians get that they didn't have before? And the answer is nothing. They don't get anything unless they change their behavior.
>> If they don't, the economic chokehold snaps back, and the consequences get a lot heavier. We're talking real inspections, real enforcement, and the actual destruction of their stockpiles.
This isn't a handshake deal based on hope. It's a show-me-or-else ultimatum.
The ball is sitting in Iran's court.
They can play by the rules and join the modern world, or they can stay in their caves.
>> That would mean a real inspections regime. That would mean a real enforcement regime. As the MOU contemplates, that would mean the destruction of their enriched stockpile.
All of these things are the sorts of steps you're going to take if you're serious about ending your nuclear weapons program.
>> So, will they choose the on-ramp back into global economy or choose isolation, sanctions, and the possibility of finding themselves ducking for cover every time they hear a jet overhead?
It's a pretty straightforward choice. Of course, not everyone is buying it. Some Democrats are already declaring the entire effort a failure before the negotiations have even begun.
>> Oh my god. I mean, what a colossal strategic failure.
Literally everything that President Trump said he was trying to accomplish with this war he's failed to accomplish.
So, uh regime change, nope. Um he killed one Ayatollah, the more extreme son, uh and the IRGC is more fiercely in control of the country.
>> It's amazing how selective their memories can be. These are the same people who barely blinked during the chaotic Afghanistan withdrawal that left 13 American service members dead. The same crowd that watched China grow more aggressive while the Biden-Harris administration basically played Weekend at Bernie's on the global stage. Now, suddenly they're foreign policy hawks?
That wasn't the only battle that Vance had to face this morning, and let's just say he handled this one with humor.
>> I've seen some progressive criticisms of me personally saying, "What experience does the Vice President of the United States have with hostile high-stakes negotiations?" And I would point those progressive critics to the fact that just 2 days ago I spent over an hour on The View. So, I actually have great experience in very hostile negotiations, and I've used that I mean, look, Joy Behar is way tougher than the Iranians, and she and I are best friends now. So, we're going to get to a good place here.
>> He's not lying. JD actually won over The View, even if it was just a brief moment in time.
>> So, this is the show of MAGA Republicans, right? That's what my media team told me.
>> [laughter] >> Okay, good.
>> Well, we'll find out, huh?
>> Well, in the book, uh Mr. Vice President, um you make a mea culpa of sorts for calling Democrats childish childless cat ladies.
>> Oh, man. I called it a boneheaded comment.
>> You say that in the book, that it was boneheaded, which it was.
Um >> Thank [laughter] you.
>> What were you thinking when you said that?
>> So, Joy said when we were off air that I'm fine, which I think is about the best [laughter] endorsement that I'm going to get out of Joy Behar for it.
Thank you. I appreciate that. Graded on a curve here at The View.
>> That might be the only time I've ever actually smiled watching a clip from The View.
And it highlights exactly what Republicans have that the majority of Democrats just, shall we say, don't. A sense of humor. Conservatives also have a shred of actual patriotism. Remember when the media though tried to convince us that Democrats had reclaimed patriotism because they handed out a few flags at the 2024 DNC? Remember this?
>> I think Willie hit the best note, which was they have reclaimed patriotism.
Right? Wes Moore has been trying to do this and talking about it since he started running for governor of Maryland two years ago. But think about the amount of flags and stars and stripes we've seen over the last few days. If the volume was down on your TV and you were squinting, you might think you were watching the RNC. And this is so rattling for Donald Trump.
>> Yeah. Well, that love for country was apparently on a subscription plan, and it just expired. CNN's own data shows that while Republicans have been just as proud to fly the stars and stripes for the last 25 years, the Democrat love affair with a flag has absolutely cratered.
>> Look at how we have an increasing polarization on this issue. We'll display the flag on July 4th, the American flag. Back in July of 2001, look at this. You had 68% of Republicans, 65% of Democrats. You come over to this side of the screen.
Republicans basically are where they were 25 years ago, right? 64%. But, look at that Democratic percentage.
Absolutely plummeting. Just 27% of Democrats say they will in fact display the flag on July 4th.
>> Only 27% of Democrats want to celebrate the birthday of the greatest country on Earth.
This is a total national embarrassment.
But, if you think that's bad, wait until you hear this.
>> What about the slogan hearing about proud to be an American?
>> Again, look at this divide. A growing divide on this question. Back in January of 2001, 90% of Republicans, 85% of Democrats. This was after a very contentious 2000 election, keep in mind, right? With George W. Bush coming into the White House. You come over to this side of the screen in 2026. Look at this. Again, the Democratic percentage absolutely plummets to just 29% of Democrats say they're extremely or very proud to be an American.
>> 29%.
That's all that's left of the proud to be an American crowd on the left. Maybe we should start a Democrats abroad program. You know, a one-way ticket to Venezuela, Iran, Cuba, any of them. I have a sneaking suspicion that after a few weeks living in those paradises, they'll be begging to plant an American flag in their front lawn.
But, you know what's cratering even faster than their patriotism? Their integrity. The media is shocked.
Shocked, I say, that nobody trusts them anymore. They sit in their DC bunkers scratching their heads wondering why confidence in their institutions is in the basement.
>> Look at this. Very little or no confidence at all. Long list here in these institutions. The news media, Congress, federal government, religious organizations, Supreme Court. Over the last 20 years, these numbers are 20 or 30 points higher than they've been. Just deteriorating confidence. You could see a partisan divide a little bit on these two. Republicans much more distrustful of the media, Democrats extremely negative on the Supreme Court.
>> They've traded actual journalism for pure propaganda. While the country is screaming for answers about missing children, massive fraud, and the fallout of our open borders, the mainstream media is busy ignoring it all to chase a story so absurd, so mind-numbingly ridiculous, you have to see it to believe it. It's an investigation into something you probably wouldn't even notice in your own backyard. Trust me, you do not want to miss this. Plus, we're going to go inside California's circus where the state is now literally deciding who gets to keep the lights on based on your personal life, not your performance. It's identity politics and it's finally being put on trial. All of that is still to come, but first, let's talk real quick about a system that actually needs to work for you, your retirement. If you're around retirement age, you know the drill. The Medicare machine starts coming for you. I've seen it firsthand with my parents, which is exactly why I made it my mission to find a simpler, more reliable way to navigate the process. Nobody wants stacks of mail piling up on the counter, your phone ringing nonstop with strangers pushing plans you've never heard of. It's overwhelming, and it shouldn't be that way. That's why I did the homework for you and partnered with Chapter. They're the only Medicare advisor that compares every plan available nationwide, not just the ones a broker is incentivized to sell. They look at your doctors, your prescriptions, and your priorities. Then they're going to match you with a plan that actually works for you. Here's the big difference. Their advisors are salary. They're not trying to sell you a specific plan to make a buck. They're there to help you make the right decision. If you're already on the best plan, they'll tell you that. If you're not, they're going to help you switch. A call with Chapter is free, and they've helped folks save an average of 1,100 a year on their health care costs. If you're turning 65 or already on Medicare, call Chapter at 833-932-13286.
Again, that's 833-932-1386.
When you call that specific number, they're going to know that I sent you and I promise they're going to take very good care of you. Don't let the system play you. Call Chapter and get it right.
All right, back to what the experts over at CNN are prioritizing. They're not investigating the real concerns plaguing Americans. They're playing amateur chemist. I'm talking about a full-blown independent investigation into the phosphate levels of the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool. We're going to scoop up >> a water sample to see if we can get this tested.
>> CNN independently took the sample of water and consulted with a pool store that regularly tests water to help read the results. It showed phosphate levels far higher than what is recommended to keep algae at bay based on estimates for a pool that holds 6.5 million gallons of water.
>> Massive fraud against the American taxpayer? Crickets. But pond scum? That gets the full investigative treatment from the experts at CNN.
And you won't believe this, the pro-algae crowd was actually out picketing in front of the reflecting pool.
Yes, you heard me correctly. They are literally protesting on behalf of algae.
We have officially reached peak circus.
And if you think the absurdity stops at the reflecting pool, just look at California. They perfected the art of ridiculous. Gavin Newsom's California is now effectively pressuring utility companies to hand out $633 million in contracts based on a scorecard that has nothing to do with whether they can actually keep your lights on or fix a down power line. It has everything to do with whether you can pass a government-mandated certification program with the requirement of being a part of the LGBTQ community.
I'm not kidding.
You want to win a utility contract in the Golden State? You better be prepared to prove your identity to the state's satisfaction.
>> is pressuring the state's public utilities to provide electricity to millions of homes to award up to $633 million to LGBT-owned firms. It's not only outrageous, it's also illegal. And look, if you're LGBT, you should have the equal rights according to everyone else to compete for these contracts. What's happening is that the government in California is saying that these contracts are only available if you pass their certification program and all heterosexual people are denied these opportunities.
>> It's called General Order 156. It is a state-supervised program that tells utilities they need to hit specific goals for contracting with certain groups. And yes, that includes a specific bucket for LGBTQ-owned firms.
And how do you get into that exclusive club? Well, you just have to jump through some hoops. We're talking about submitting documentation, letters from your doctors, affidavits from friends, or awards from activist organizations just to get a stamp of approval from the Supplier Clearinghouse.
It's supposed to be about who can provide the best product at the lowest price for the ratepayer. But in California, the state government is putting its own thumb on the scale, telling utilities, "Don't just look for the best company, look for the one that checks the right social boxes."
>> We have Harmeet Dhillon, who's the Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights. She's already on top of this.
She's sent a letter to California. She's opening an inquiry into this. And look, it has to stop. We can have equality in this country or we can have unequal treatment in this country. I know we're for equality. That's the standard that we need to have. It only should be based on competence, merit, and quality of the product.
>> And look, this isn't just about red tape. It's about the total erosion of the competitive market. When utilities are forced to chase social goals instead of efficiency, the ratepayer is the one who ultimately picks up the tab. We don't need demographic bingo when we're trying to keep the lights on. We need the best firm for the job, period. So, So time to stop the social engineering experiments and the identity games and get back to actual business because if you can do the work, you should get the contract. If not, step aside.
It's that easy.
All right, that [music] does it for me today. If you missed yesterday's episode, it's up on your screen. You can check it out now and click on it. I'll see you over there. For the rest of you, as always, thanks for stopping by.
Always appreciate you hanging [music] out with me. I hope you have a great rest of your night and we'll see you back soon.
