Pride Month serves as a vital celebration and advocacy platform for the LGBTQ+ community because legal victories alone do not eliminate discrimination, and ongoing threats to LGBTQ+ rights worldwide necessitate continued visibility, community building, and collective action to ensure acceptance and safety for all LGBTQ+ individuals.

Pride 2026: Why Do They Need A Whole Month?
Added:Hello, my name's Artemis, and it's Pride Month. Happy Pride, everybody. That annual celebration of the LGBT community, where we all come together and well, celebrate the community and also take stock of what sort of things we need to be focused on for the next year of attacks from [ __ ] who've never really felt a sense of community and take it out on us because we have something they have failed to achieve.
>> [snorts] >> Yes, it's that time of year for people to come out the woodwork once again and say, "Why do they need a whole month?
Why do we even need Pride? What are we fighting for?" So, this year I thought, "Fuck it. If you guys want to make yourselves a target, I will [ __ ] target you, your [ __ ] [ __ ] arguments, and take them the [ __ ] apart because while you might live in this privileged world where everything is fine and lovely and Gucci, [ __ ] is actually a bit [ __ ] worse than that."
So, let's get into it.
>> [music] >> So, the first point that they often bring up is, "Why do we still need to have Pride? What is there left to do?
What is there left to fight for?"
And that's just so [ __ ] funny to me because you have to have a certain level of willful ignorance and blindness to the world to be able to come up with such a stupid [ __ ] easy to defeat point as that. Because I get it, you say that, "Oh, well, we've got gay marriage now. Gay people and LGBTQIA, all of that is still, you know, it's it's mainstream now. Nobody's having to stay in the closet. It's all okay." And I'm like, "Yeah, cool. Yeah, they passed some laws and that instantly everything." You know, cuz that's how it works. Just how racism and discrimination was completely abolished when slavery was. Yeah, I get it. When you change the law, it changes everybody's minds, right? And bigotry just disappears. Obviously the [ __ ] not, you dense [ __ ] Now, the real realities of all of this will be touched upon in the later parts of this video, and I don't want to just re-tread [ __ ] but this is the first point, and I feel like it is the the weakest. Why do we still need Pride? If you ask if that's what you're starting with, I'm automatically putting you in a little box of this is a stupid [ __ ] okay? And I don't think you're going to climb out of that box.
Now quite often the whole question of why do we still need a pride, why do we have to have a whole month for it is actually pretty attached to the whole why do you have to be all in our face about it? And to that I say, why the [ __ ] not? Why shouldn't we be? Why does everybody else get to be all in everybody's face about who they are as a person if they're religious, if they support the troops, if they like a sports team? Why is all of that suddenly completely fine and okay and you can plaster over your car and your house and your entire [ __ ] life and personality, but who we are is apparently not allowed, is apparently not fine. Because we're absolutely fine glorifying people for their hetero activities and like having kids and [ __ ] but when it comes to us, apparently not. And essentially it's because we see so much darkness, we see so many people coming to attack us, so many people who saw AIDS as a blessing and Stonewall as a curse. And we [music] have to say, no, there was more in this world than that. There was us, there was our community. That's why we have to be in your face about it. You know why?
It's because this [ __ ] is still underground for a lot of people. Because there's a lot of kids being told, you're wrong, you're broken. You need to change to fit what I wanted you to be as my son. There were a lot of people who were being told, no, it's actually a mental illness for you to feel the way you feel and love the people you love and you cannot have that. There is enough darkness in this [ __ ] world already that we need to shine the light brighter. We need a big, loud place that says, you are valid, you are worthy of love. There was nothing broken about you. Who you are is good and accepted and who you deserve to be. We need people to grow up not thinking they're broken, not being terrified to accept who they are. And we need to show them that there are places, there are homes, there are communities that will embrace them for that. We need to be a [ __ ] beacon in the darkness here because the dark is trying as hard as they [ __ ] can to stamp us out. Okay? If you can't understand why this level of community and acceptance is so important, then clearly you've not felt it yourself and I'm sorry. It's there. It's ready. It's It's ready to [ __ ] welcome you in if you [ __ ] let it, okay? Cuz that healing can come. Of course, when they cannot attack the validity of pride and the reason why we have these things, no, they instead decide, "Well, actually there's other things that are more important. So, why don't we celebrate those instead?" And one of the biggest buttons they like to press in this country is military appreciation. Why do they get a whole month and yet the veterans don't? Actually, they do.
Actually, there are three months in the year in the calendar year in the US celebrating the military in different forms.
Um Wh- Wh- When are they? Just Just a quick one. If you're going to make this point about how we get a month and you care about the veterans so much, wh- when are those months?
In fact, actually I I did the math because there's also a shitload of days and commemorative observation days as well. Um in fact, when you look at it, pride gets 30 days uh cuz it's June and uh there's over 120 days actually um for the military including the months. So, um when are they? What are they all? What do you do to celebrate them is my main thing. Cuz it's quite interesting that you see, you know, 120 plus days for the military and 30 for pride when, you know, 2% of the American population identifies as LGBT, but less than 1% are actually serving in the military. Just, you know, interesting. But also, when you, you know, look at the amount of people who died over the 20-year Vietnam War and compare it to the people who died within an 11-year span of AIDS, which was a crisis that was deliberately ignored because it impacted the LGBTs and they wanted to brand it the gay plague. I'm not trying to say that one is more important than the other. I'm not trying to say that we should celebrate one more than the other.
Obviously not. These are both worthy causes. There's a lot of worthy causes out there. My point here is that if you want to say that And would care about the veterans so much, well, I don't think you do. I think you just like to pick up a stick and hit someone with it. And the sad part is you're just going to end up hitting yourself in the face because uh this this whole why do they get a month and the military doesn't get a [ __ ] Yeah, you're just dumb.
So, my whole favorite rebuttal to the lovely argument of well, why do they have to have a whole month? Why don't we do this for the veterans? Blah [ __ ] blah. And we see it as well with the you know, the month of June is also men's mental health awareness month. And we see why don't we do anything for that?
Why does nobody do anything for that?
Okay. So, the reason pride happens is because people make it happen. The LGBT community comes together and they plan and they organize and they book people and they build events and they make it.
>> [music] >> If you want to celebrate the veterans, do it. I'm all for that. Make a parade.
Speak to your town about what you can do to try and raise awareness. Maybe you can have an observance. Maybe you can, you know, go and clean up one of the memorials. I mean, the fight against fascism and the Nazis in World War II and the sacrifices people make to try and make a better world should be honored. It's it's a beautiful thing that people fight that hard for a world that they want to see be made better and we should honor that. So, go out and do it. Go out and plan that. Go out and build that. You want to celebrate men's mental health awareness month? Then do it. Make a parade. Make some awareness.
Maybe you could reach out to some counselors and see if you can boost some awareness to some of the issues that men face.
Or secretly deep down is it actually that no, you don't care about these things? You just need a weapon. You just need something that you can point to and say, "Oh, well, we don't do it for this." And I personally perceive this as being more important than you.
You don't really care, do you? That's the fun part of all of this. You can [ __ ] and moan and piss and whine and cry about all of these other worthy causes, but you don't give a [ __ ] And it hurts you. It burns you up inside that you see other people who actually do something with their passions, but you people who argue about this [ __ ] just nothing in there, is there? There's nothing in there but hatred. If you were actually motivated by this love and this care that you wanted to show these things, then maybe they'd happen. And the fact that they don't seems to be that there was nothing in here.
Little [ __ ] [ __ ] Go and [ __ ] do something yourself for once instead of expecting everybody else to do it for you, [ __ ] Now, a lot of this stems from a willful ignorance. It stems from them deliberately not being educated about this. Because if you do the research on the safety of LGBT rights in the world, in this country, anywhere, you start to learn that things are not good. Things are not stable. In fact, just last year, you want to say marriage equality is a big thing. Just last year, Obergefell was up in front of the Supreme Court again. And that is the legal precedent that marriage equality hinges on. These are all of the states that have trigger laws. So that if Obergefell falls, same-sex marriage is illegal in those states. That's an automatic thing, okay?
And the only reason Obergefell didn't get overturned last year is because of this stupid [ __ ] did not have a strong case. You are naive as [ __ ] if you believe that they aren't trying to build a stronger one. In fact, here's a lovely scrolling list of all of the states that have anti-LGBT laws that are trying to be passed, have been fought, and some of which have passed. Because things are just so wonderful. We don't need a pride. We don't need to keep fighting, right?
Yeah, well, 1,800 roughly [ __ ] driving licenses were revoked for transgender individuals in Kansas.
Because [ __ ] you, I guess. Because But But No, we don't need a pride to do that, obviously. No. Because why do we need to celebrate the protection of our community? Because there's not that many threats, are there? No. No, there's not a massive existential threat to our [ __ ] existence that's existed throughout all of time. No. There aren't 64 countries in the world where it's illegal to be gay. THERE AREN'T 12 OF WHICH where they will [ __ ] EXECUTE YOU, ARE THERE? But obviously, it's not just us. Because look at all the countries where it's illegal to be straight.
[ __ ] did we not put a graphic up? Oh, no, it's because there aren't any.
>> [snorts] >> Do not [ __ ] start with this [ __ ] you uneducated [ __ ] okay? I get it. You don't see there being a danger, but there [ __ ] is. In fact, you not seeing the danger seems to be a huge part of the [ __ ] problem.
Now, I make this point a lot in my videos, and it's because it's something that pisses me the [ __ ] off, and it also applies in a hell of a lot of cases. It is the hypocrisy with this that really gets on my [ __ ] nerves, because we know that they don't really care about these things. They just want to use them as weapons. We know that they don't understand logic and reason, but they make it so glaringly obvious. These are the people that say, "Well, I just don't like pride. Can't we just agree to disagree?" We cannot, actually. We can agree to disagree when it comes to pineapple on pizzas and whether this is your favorite color or not. When it comes to people's ability to live their life how they want without the interference of other people who don't have anything to [ __ ] do with them, NO, THAT IS NOT NEGOTIABLE. NO, WE CANNOT HAVE A CONVERSATION ABOUT THAT.
YOU have to [ __ ] live in this world the same as that we do, and if we leave you the [ __ ] alone, you should leave us the [ __ ] alone. Agreeing to disagree does not mean you have to stop doing what you're doing because I don't like it. Agreeing to disagree does not mean I'm going to quote tweet you and put you on blast. I'm going to come into your space, get into your face, and tell you you are [ __ ] wrong. You should eat [ __ ] AND DIE. THAT'S NOT AGREEING to disagree, is it? Does that sound civil?
Does that sound polite? Does that sound like you're going to change someone's mind? No. Sounds like a whiny little [ __ ] [ __ ] WHO HAS NO ONE IN THEIR LIFE WHO GIVES A [ __ ] ABOUT THEM, so screams about it on the [ __ ] internet and makes it everyone else's problem.
You say that you like freedom of speech and that you can't say anything these days, but it only applies when you want to use slurs, doesn't it? Because when people stand up and say, "Oh, actually, I support this thing, and I support people being able to live their lives, right?" No, you got to get in their face, and suddenly you turn on the whole freedom of speech [ __ ] You manage to look at a book that said, "Love thy neighbor," and turn that into, "Cool, so I can hate everyone who's different from me and tell them they're going to burn for eternity, right?" But, here's the problem. I'm trying to apply logic and reason and rational critical thinking skills to people who do not [ __ ] have them. They don't care about these things. They don't truly have any principles. They are vapid, empty sacks of nothingness. They don't believe anything wholly, and they fall for everything. You can't argue this out.
You can't give them facts and data and reason because they don't [ __ ] understand it.
>> [snorts] >> So, you have to kind of just leave that [ __ ] be and let people live in the world that they have created for themselves.
It's depressing, but you can't fix everybody, especially those who refuse to see that they are the [ __ ] problem.
Now, I do strongly believe that a lot of the reason you see people within our community push back against pride and pick up the same old sticks of, "Why do we have to put it in everyone's face?
Why do we have to include children in it?" comes from a position of privilege.
And I don't like throwing that word around because of the connotations it has, but it [ __ ] fits. You do not see yourself as part of this community. You do not see yourself attached to the dangers of it. You [ __ ] are. Your very existence, who you are at the core, your being, they don't like you. The people who are against us and hate pride hate you, too.
You There is no such thing as one of the good ones, okay? You can try and distinguish yourself. We've seen this with the LGB trying to cut off the TQIA+.
Great, wonderful. You can try and cut that branch off thinking that it's going to save the tree. Essentially, all you're doing is helping the [ __ ] lumberjack who's going to tear it out by the [ __ ] root if you give him a chance, okay? You are just as much imperiled as us. I get it, you don't see it because, well, let's let's just say there are a lot of social economic reasons why you might feel that you're above this. You will be leveled with this damage the same as us. You still fall under the same legal categories. If they take the rights away from us, they take it away from you, too. And you exposing your privilege, you picking up the same tired rhetoric that all these [ __ ] frauds decide they're going to pick up and wield, it's pathetic. It is genuinely pathetic. And I get it.
Sometimes you don't have talent.
Sometimes nobody gives a [ __ ] about the [ __ ] you put up online, so you've got to make rage bait, but honestly, go and get some [ __ ] therapy, man, because this [ __ ] no, no, no. We need to [ __ ] stop this [ __ ] Essentially, when you boil it down, it comes down to a very simple age-old [ __ ] argument, which is love versus hate. I'm sorry. If you are arguing against celebration of acceptance, of welcoming, of letting people be who they are, live their lives how they want, and find peace, harmony, happiness, and joy with fellow like-minded individuals. If you're against all of that, I can't see that as being motivated by anything apart from hatred, or maybe anger, maybe resentment, maybe self-loathing that's been redirected and pointed at someone else. Because we come together when we celebrate each other. We celebrate the survival. We celebrate the sacrifices that were made so that we can [ __ ] run today into a better tomorrow.
[music] We celebrate those who came before us and left a legacy. We pick up the fight that they started and we continue it so that it will never be in vain.
What do you do?
You turn up and say, "I don't like you."
You don't like yourself. A lot of people who are arguing this this year seem to be part of this community, and then want to make a point that oh well, they're going to come for me and take my gay card and say that I'm a self-hating gay.
Are you not? If you don't like this sort of celebration, that's fine. You don't have to go to a pride, but look at the political climate that we're living in. Look at the administration.
Look at the efforts that are being made against our community.
Why would you want to stand up and make this party your personality? Why would you want to stand up and identify yourself as this?
Because essentially, it only makes you look like you don't really like any of this [ __ ] and you want it all gone, because that's what the other people who agree with you want.
You You have a choice. Every single day you wake up and you have a choice to be the best version of yourself and leave this world just a little bit better than you left it.
Do you think attacking a marginalized community is doing that? Do you think attacking people who are consistently always being attacked just for the crime of existing is a good use of your time?
Is that going to bring you peace? Is that going to bring you happiness? Is that going to bring purpose to your life?
I really genuinely hope these hurt, broken, painful people learn to heal whatever is inside them that's making them this twisted, bitter, and hated.
I just don't know that they have the ability to look at themselves and realize that normal people don't go to other spaces that they don't like just to attack people. That is a deeply unhealthy thing. And it doesn't have to stay that way.
It also doesn't have to happen to us ever again. And you can't expect people to just listen to you say, "Actually, no. I don't think you should be happy with who you are." [ __ ] you.
[ __ ] you entirely. Get the [ __ ] out.
Thank you very much for watching. I hope this was a good, fun video. Happy Pride to everybody watching as well. Uh what do you think? Was I right about all of this stuff? Cuz I feel like I [ __ ] was. As you can tell, I'm pretty passionate about this stuff and the way that it's sort of being seen in the world. So, probably why I did a hell of a lot of shouting. So, I actually filmed the intros and outros first. Um so, I'm just going to assume I ended up shouting cuz I'm about to film the stuff you've just seen. So, probably a safe bet. But, uh yeah. Oh uh this This is obviously something I'm very passionate about because we have to stay passionate about this. We have to keep this fight going. We are in a much better position than we have been in the past, but it doesn't mean that position is permanent. It doesn't mean that position is one that we can feel safe in and just relax. Complacency is what sets us backwards. And celebration [music] should go hand in hand with vigilance.
We have to keep an eye on this [ __ ] because there are still people that want us gone, want us in the closet, and want our rights taken away, which is ironic considering how much they celebrate freedom. But that's a whole other point.
It's kind of the same point, but whatever. But thank you for watching. If you did enjoy this and you'd like to help support us, there's a bunch of ways that you can do that, uh, which are flashing up on the screen in the same graphics you've been seeing for years.
We really should update those. And um, yeah, happy pride. Thanks for watching.
Happy community. Go out there, feel welcomed, [music] feel accepted, be happy being who you are, and uh, I will see you later to shout about some other issues, I guess. Bye.
